At this stage I have one fitted in mine and it is going well but it has only been a couple of days. Candy's Canter is not quite on the road yet but hopefully in a couple of days if I can arrange the new blue plate and roadworthy. There are no other changes needed, just remove old gear and fit...
This is something that I have been able to source from overseas from private contacts. I've brought in two (to tryout) for our own use (Candy and mine) but may be able to source more.

The Right Gear.
Finally I have been able to come up with the right gear to correct our speedos. With fitting super singles (315/75x16) the diameter puts the speedo out. When we were at 100kph on the GPS the speedo would be reading only 97kph, so not good as you would be going to fast if you...
Sounds like a transmission problem if it is Duonic or the clutch is slipping if manual. Sounds like low range would have been helpful in both situations.

The turbo (with oil and water lines) is available from Ebay. A manifold I'm making, none available unless you go to one of the turbo shops and they may just make it. Costing of doing it all myself ????.
But satisfaction of doing it - great. I thought a kit was available from one of the shops...
On my 2000 model Canter my 16" singles are rated (legally) for my max GVM but this may not be with all Canters. Even though it is derated (to 4495kg ) the tyres are still rated at max GVM (Canter specs).

I have cut 2 of the 90 bends to make 45s and using a custom made wedge turned the round pipe into the shape of the exhaust port. This was done by utilizing a hydraulic press and pressing the wedge into the pipe. End result is port shaped pipe.

With one project coming to an end ( http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/152764-Canter-Fg637-Rebirth ) parts for the new one are arriving.
It's time to put a turbo on mine.
Custom exhaust manifold. Well it will be.

I use a set of calipers to measure my tyre wear and adjust pressure to suit for even wear, but this is to run on bitumen. Then I monitor my tyre temps using a "TYRE DOG" setup and if temps climb too much it is either slow down or more pressure (which then becomes counter to what you want as you...
That's what happens on dirt/gravel roads and you have wheel spin it takes chips out. You will find it mainly on the rears when you run in 2WD. We see this all the time on our Landcruiser when we run around the farm in 2WD and going slow. The tyre tends to roll on the little stones just from the...
