I don't think its just Ford's trucks getting big; it seems like almost every new car is getting bigger and bigger.

The Raptor is pretty much the only new vehicle that I find exciting at the moment. I'm stoked a manufacturer decided to finally make a special edition of a truck with long travel, instead of a lowered street queen or a crawler.

Out of curiosity, is this also a problem with older trucks? Say like with an 87 Toyota?

+1 for the Treadwright Guard Dogs. I'm running them now and they've been treating me well. I did get one flat but it was not the tire's fault. I clipped a hidden rock with my sidewall at 30-40 mph and put a nice little hole in it.

I used some progressive EVS ones from Daystar to replace the stock hard rubber ones and I love them.

Maybe some upgraded bumpstops then. They made a huge difference on the front of my truck and didn't cost too much.

Does OME make anything for your truck? Their shocks have been working very well for me. Also, you could use a typical lockwasher on the bolts that hold your shell on. I've been using those and have had no problem with bolts loosening, even on the terrible washboards in death valley.

Check in the passenger-side footwell against the right side. Mine's there hidden behind a little kick panel. I don't know if 85s are the same though.

Just looking for a carbed truck with a distributer won't find you one without a computer, FYI. My 87 has a carb and a computer, I assume its the emissions computer previously mentioned.
