Ok the new modifications are complete so here's a few pictures of what was done.
First the tongue was extended one foot, this was to allow the tailgate to open without hitting.
Next was to remove the old latches that held the top closed and put in a new one that gives a cleaner look.
The old...
Thanks, it has been a learning experience and the more we work on it the better we get, my brother is the one with the fab skills though.
I took the trailer to my brother's house last weekend for some more modifications. Here is a list of what we will be doing, first is a new roof rack. What's...
I like the color. You need to post a pic of your tow vehicle. It's a never ending project, I'm always upgrading mine with ideas I get from other people on here. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
The only elements that I can think of is mud / dirt that might get into the hole. I'm not worried about anything getting into it right now so there is no plan. If it becomes an issue I'll work on something to fix it.
Thanks, the tank is from Front Runner, it's a 50 liter tank (13.2 gallons)...
I took my trailer back to my brother's house this last weekend and we made a modification to it.
This is the original box that was used to hold water cans.
I wanted to add a water tank instead of water cans. I ordered a 13.2 gallon tank.
It almost fit in the box except the lip of the box had...
My brother asked me to post these for you, he tried and had an issue with it. These are of the lid.
Here is the close up of the tailgate.
Hope this helps you out.
I have my lid open from the passenger side, incase I pull off the road and need to access the trailer while traveling. I'm out of the traffic if I have to get something. The tent folds out to the drivers side so that you can still open the lid and have the tent deployed. I don't have any type...
A couple of final shots of the generation 2 trailer, by the way the trailer weighed in at 1700 lbs without the generator.
The side tables fit inside the trailer, one for each side of the trailer.
There is also two propane tanks. Here's the final set up.
My brother signed it and it was on...
We don't have an exact number but including the tent and excluding the generator the raw materials were about $2500.
The person who my brother made the trailer for just happened to have that generator at his house and wanted to be able to mount it just in case he needed it. It actually came in...
A quick look at how the generator works.
Trailer without the generator.
The tongue jack has to go as low as possible then you use the scissor jack to disconnect the tongue jack and put the ramps down for the generator to roll up.
Extend the winch and it makes easy work of loading or unloading...
Put my new rack on the jeep. It took about 5 weeks for it to come then it was the wrong one. Another week and a half to get the correct part in (snow storm delayed Fed-Ex).
Now I'm waiting on the LED light bar to arrive.
Some final pictures of the trailer as it is finished up.
On board air.
Another picture of the air hose and bottle opener (some of you my recognize the insignia on the opener), a little special touch.
A few more pictures from the inside of the front box with and without the shelf.
The winch...
