On checking out that website rlrenz posted I noticed something that may help your splitting the house and truck battery packs. Most of the Ambo's I have seen have a Schotty diode either as a battery isolator or to stop feedback from select appliances. These are a great bit of kit and if you have...
I didn't play with any spacers under the center support bearing. Eventually I am hoping that putting transfer case in will eliminate the need for the 2 piece driveshaft. That would eliminate the support bearing and 2 UJoints as failure points. But again if you do put a spacer in there you will...
Much cheaper to have them made than pay the Freightliner prices at the stealership. Just remember to re-torque them after 50 miles and again after a couple of hundred miles. I also check mine every year no matter how far I travel. Things happen fast if they get too loose especially if running...
I don't have the numbers and you need a VIN number for a truck that had one to find them in the Freightliner system. I found them at the truck wreckers. But having the springs re arched is the answer. You should be fine to put the tires on the front and drive it to the spring shop (I did). Even...
For outside we have a Partner 22", a scottle and a jet boil just for a quick cuppa. Inside we have a single induction cooktop and an inverter microwave which can run off our inverter.
Generally we always cook outside but we had to have the inside cooking facilities to get the vehicle...
I would recommend 2x fresh to gray but the ratio depends on where you will be camping. I actually run 8 fresh to 1 gray as my camping is rarely at civilized facilities and I just use the gray as a surge tank for when I do. This will change when I install a shower.
Also I would not recommend...
That description is totally correct except I don't think there is a thermostat in the box. That might be a big hint. I wonder where the thermostat was originally.
Also you mentioned getting a 110v compressor for your box AC. Any ideas on where to find them or what size compressor it is. I...
Yep throw the computer on and reset the quick adaptive flag and then drive it a few times. It will take longer to learn without that flag being set but it doesn't hurt anything. That will be $200 please. Oh would you prefer your shafting with or without the iron filings.
Mode button should...
I didn't get the shift points done. Allison does "learn" your driving style so the shift point change is not really needed. You already have the choice of 2 shift patterns. When you get the wheels just try them both out and work out which is best for the different situations.
Hopefully someone...
It would probably be better for bragging rights it it wasn't loaded to take the truck to the transmission shop again. Warranty on a few oil leaks. ☹️
Yep ex Austin police department R1200RTP. I also have a K1200LT but thought I might like an RT more. Didn't want to part with the LT until I knew an RT would suit my purpose and didn't want to part with $10K just to try an RT for a while to see if its what I want. So now this is my airport...
You might want to reconsider splitting the house and start batteries up. If you stick with your 4 batteries for both uses you have a lot more discharge capacity which is a lot more friendly to the batteries. You eliminate any charging issues and I have found that I don't have any issues running...
rossvtaylor is doing an Ambo conversion and he is in flag. I would say he could put it to a good use. I will send him a message and let him know about it.
Air conditioning. After 3 years (and we live in Phoenix). I finally decided to take a look at the air conditioning. A couple of hours later and it is working (not the most efficient AC around).
2 things I found out.
1- the fuse/relay panel diagram I have been using for years was incomplete...
