Same experience. I spoke to a shop I trust and they said the same thing. They'd be liable for anything anyone ever put into the hitch, even after I sell the rig. Never thought about that but makes sense.

I've got a flatbed w/ no bumper so that wasn't a concern for me BUT I'm sure they designed it to fit a rig with a bumper so..it probably won't sit any higher than factory. Hadn't considered that. D'oh!
