Really a 7.3. Every gas pump in the Western Hemisphere has 87 octane. I am going through the same dilemma and I think a 3/4 ton power wagon with the big hemi is the way to go.

Spotty communication. It's like it would drop out. I thought maybe it was my obd2 port but all other scanners work. So I tried the IIdtool on another lr3 and same problem. I just gave up.

That's good out here though we have the powdered sugar sand before you get to the hard pack. That's my concern with and versus 4x4
