The crank bolt is a recommended torque once bolt (any M12 bolt over 100 ft/lbs torque). Replace each time on all the V6s with every timing belt (or any reason this bolt is tightened to torque and replaced)

Extending splines on an existing axle is going to be WAY more expensive than sourcing the correct axle. A used correct axle will run you between $50 and $150 depending on savvy you are.
