    Looking for a locker

If the LS is a 3.0l, it would most likely have a 9" ring gear. It might be possible to source the 3rd member and axles from a '92 or '93 SR which also had 3.0l engines. The '94 and later SRs had 3.5l engines and 9.5" rear ring gears, they don't interchange unless the entire wheel to wheel...

School Me on Rear Differentials - Gen 3 Montero

Interesting. I don't see the marks (N) for the sleeves and bearings for the Gen 2 Locker (I'm in the middle of putting once together is why the reference). The (N) is on the pinion nut, pinion seal and copper crush washers for the locker air line only. Maybe Mitsu changed the sleeve in the...

Why Mitsubishi doesn't import Montero sport?

Interesting. I spend considerable time in Thailand each year and have never seen a gas version. But they also have less tax on the trucks with diesels, so probably nobody buys a gas version. Also, the diesel engine over there won't be using DEF, and it's simply not a bolt on. I see the 3.0 l...

Why Mitsubishi doesn't import Montero sport?

Oh so many reasons. #1 - American's in general don't like diesels (soccer mom class vehicles) . So far this is the only power plant option in the latest generation Pajero Sport which I assume you are referencing.

Recommended Oil for Gen 2 Montero SR 3.5 DOHC

I've been using Shell Rotella T6 5w40 in all my trucks for a long time. The '05 has had it in it since I bought it more than 7 years ago and 90K miles.

    Retreads...and 3rd Gen tire/lift preferences

I ran 235s (BFG A/T KO) for about 35K miles on my '05 and hated every mile. Truck handled way too squirly. Previously to those I have had 265/75R17 (Falken Wild Peak) for 45K and currently have 285/75R16 (BFG A/T KO2) on the truck for approximately 10K. With the wider tires the truck feels...

    Retreads...and 3rd Gen tire/lift preferences

Ditch the spacers. You will need a little lift for 285/75R16 (I have these). I went with ARB/OME medium springs and like them. They raise the truck about 1.5" from stock. I have KYBs in the front of mine & Bilsteins in the rear. Can't wait to swap out the KYBs in the front and replace with...

    Retreads...and 3rd Gen tire/lift preferences

I agree with Toasty. Don't go narrower than 265 as well, and ditch the KYBs for Bilsteins at a minimum.

    Mitsubishi Pajero diesel from Europe?

needs to be 25 years old from day of actual build at the factory. Other than that, it should be pretty straight forward like any overseas import. I know a lot of older Land Rovers come from Spain to USA. Figure $4k to $5k in shipping, customs, inspections etc on top of your purchase prince in...
