    Dual sport suggestions

I've got a DR350 4 stroke and I find it too heavy for Colorado single track trails, I've been eyeballing the KTM 350.. its a good 50lbs lighter.

Victron Energy: Alternator/Solar Charging - LFP Battery System

its the "trailer brakes" line.. in a truck I think I'd be looking hard at a Sterling DC Charger, probably the 60A for that big LFP.

Victron Energy: Alternator/Solar Charging - LFP Battery System

I'm not charging at all via alternator, I put a diode on my feed line from the truck so the LFP can power the brakes and so does the tow vehicle.. but it dont provide a charge current. I'm relying entirely on solar or ac charger.. my fixed solar usually does just dandy charging while driving...

Victron Energy: Alternator/Solar Charging - LFP Battery System

eh, given LFP's ability to sink massive charge rates, I would not rely on cabling to limit charge current like I would a lead battery.

    LiFePO4 Install

update: I was told to fill out RMA form and the'd send me a shipping label (which I didn't expect).. dunno if they are mailing me return packaging or if I'll just get an email this week w/a label. planning a 10 day vacation in mid october, hopefully this is resolved by then.

Victron Energy: Alternator/Solar Charging - LFP Battery System

here's what Victron App gives LFP's: but digging into Victron's dbus API here: https://github.com/victronenergy/venus/wiki/dbus#battery specifically: /Info/MaxChargeVoltage <- Maximum voltage to charge to (BYD, Lynx BMS and FreedomWon) /Io/AllowToCharge...

Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

Controllers should be pretty accurate in their reporting of panel input.

Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

a 12ah battery wouldn't run my fridge and base loads for more than ~6h, thought you said you had a 100AH?

Its a 5k pound vehicle, and there's an air-stream company in Canada called Can-Am that regularly modifies the stock receiver hitch to support a weight distribution setup and then pull around 10klb campers, they been doing it for a decade+.. the only technical limitation preventing me from towing...

uh I've got 6 passengers and nearly the same towing capacity (7700#).. those lil yotas aint gonna hang.. I get better fuel economy towing than you get in the city heh.. mine's only a car when I deflate the airbags and wanna play on some pavement, I bet yah when I crank the bags up to full I'd...

yeah I'm now thinking of going and getting some angle iron and fabricating a side mount for my genset.. id rather it be before the fender anyhow, wouldn't have to take it off to unload the toys, which we usually want to do before deploying the beds as the motorbikes and pedal bikes make it a bit...

? - Durability of flex/fold solar panels when not permanently mounted?

I need to be able to park at a base camp, trailhead or ranger station for 3-10 days unsupervised and know all my food is good and my gear is not getting raided while I'm backpacking, fixed roof panel is required for me.. many times I find the massive house panel on my roof is more than enough...

Victron Blue Smart Charger (Not solar)

Ive been disappointed in my Lithium PD, its a 45A and its never outputted anywhere near 45A.. most is ~30A, and then the longer it runs at full output the lower that full output goes.. after 2-3h of running in the summer its under 20A... There is also no pots on the board to adjust the output...

2018 Labor Day weekend I ran over a bike in the middle of 285 on the traffic home.. got lucky and front passenger tire caught it as I swerved and sent the mangled corpse of a bike flying off into the ditch. I bet someone was real sad when they got home and realized they had lost their bike.. I...

yeah I'd be questioning any trailer receiver is good enough for a bike rack, and inverse if any bike rack is good enough for a trailer receiver.. there's so much dynamic load w/a multi bike carrier its absurd.. Ive casually watched bikes mounted on the back of a trailer and they move around far...

Need the solar/power pros to weigh in

There are cheaper SOC monitors than Victron, you dont have to invest in that high end of a unit.. but its got alot of really nice features that do make it worth that much, especially if you stay within the Victron Ecosystem. The shunt is my Kill-O-Watt, I just turn everything off but the one...
