DII Owners Rejoice. It's the ABS Amigo!

That is correct. It saves the history from the past three readings so you can keep track. You can read and clear the codes and then go to your PC to make a diagnosis using the codes. Waiting three or four key cycles, the lights will either stay off is there is no real problem or if you fixed the...

Does anyone know of a 12v motor repair shop in Phoenix? I just need them to connect one of the copper coils in a winch motor to one of the stud terminals. Thanks Brian

Repairing a broken WARN XD9000 winch terminal stud

I like the idea of trying to crimp on a connector. I am hoping to leave the copper coil in place and don't really want to take it out of the housing so it will be a tight work space for sure. The bolt I picked up at the store is just a zink plated steel bolt - I hope that will suffice. Brian

Repairing a broken WARN XD9000 winch terminal stud

Ok, so I took the motor off of the winch and I was able to remove the broken terminal stud bolt. Unfortunately, when I had originally wrenched on the bolt with the motor still attached to the winch I also broke the connection between the copper winding and the bolt head, see pic: I also...

Repairing a broken WARN XD9000 winch terminal stud

"Tear it apart" "Remove the endcap" Hooray!:victory: Just what I was looking forward to doing. :( I think you guys are right though. I found a picture from a post on pirate where a guy was rebuilding a smaller Warn. He had to replace the studs, with the motor casing off it looks like they...

They either use it based out of their cabin in the Missouri woods or tow it behind their RV for exploring.

    Thoughts and Recommendations

With 31 inch tires and a lightly loaded vehicle I think the re-gearing is an unnecessary expenditure. The vehicle is not struggling on the highway and the current gearing does them fine on the trail. I don't think they will elver need to re-gear this vehicle, however I agree that now would be...

    Thoughts and Recommendations

I agree, the axle shafts would be the next logical upgrade, but they are not doing rock crawling trails where they will be wedging the tires between rocks and such. Mostly they will encounter mud, sand, and the occasional small ledge to get up. Brian

    Thoughts and Recommendations

Hi, My stepfather has an older Jeep Wrangler, 1997 maybe. He uses it for light exploration and has done very light mods to it: winch and bumper, jerry can holder, sliders, small OME lift and 31 inch tires. He is wanting to add a locker to provide more safety and capability, I think it would be...

Repairing a broken WARN XD9000 winch terminal stud

Hi everyone! In taking off my Warn XD9000 the other day, one of the studs on the motor casing was broken off. There are three studs protruding from the casing, "A", "F-1" and "F-2". The "F-2" stud bolt broke off about three quarters of the way down so there is now only a small stub sticking...
