Here in the snowy PNW, its a common issue.
Enough that most truckers avoid it by drilling drain holes in boxes and toss rubber mats in the floor to keep straps/gear off the floor.
Moisture typically is introduced by wet gear. Beyond that its a matter of relative humidity and temp swings...
All fluids in, and first crank went well.
10 seconds of lifter rattle, then after another 30 seconds or so gauge showed 45# of oil pressure during cranking, on a marginal battery.
Good enough to move on! Plugs gapped and dropped in, a bit more harness tied up, then the body went back on...
Chassis back in the shop.
Fluids and dry-crank day
Gear fluids for front and rear diffs, transfer case, and transmission. Some conventional castrol for first start/run for the engine.
Then hook up oil pressure gauge, battery, and crank it over. If all goes well, engine cranks fine...
lol "facts" :ROFLMAO:
FYI, actual specs of said 79 are here...
And no, it is not rated for 3000lbs of payload, especially if it is a diesel. Let alone the likely 3500lb wet weight of that camper.
A diesel single cab according to this sheet is rated for just 1060KG of payload. That's less...
Looks like its built well. But honestly, for 135k USD Id expect more. Or to be more clear.... Id expect LESS. Far less weight.
A 2300# dry weight... and 55 gallon water capacity (another 500#) puts this box at near 3000#s before ANY gear or food is loaded.
So a realistic wet loaded weight is...
That 300ZX on the list bring back memories.
A buddy of mine had one, when I had my first gen 1989 SHO Taurus (hence the screen-name ;) )
What a hot mess of a fun car that was. Good times.
Our setup has two vents, like most factory tanks.
One is primary filler neck vent the other is a tank (vapor) vent that connects to OEM vapor recovery line.
I also installed a roll-over-valve on the tank (vapor) vent, so in the event of a rollover, fuel doesnt spill right into that line.
My 6.2 supeduty came with a 32 gallon tank, and rolling loaded with the camper just didnt give me the range I was willing to live with.
Larger "direct fit" tanks hang WAY too low, and cost a small fortune.
My solution was a second tank, mounted within the custom bed I built, giving me a total...
Or when you are above tree line, with nothing to suspend tarps from.
Plenty of reasons why a tarp is essentially nonsense.
Unless you are on a hobo-budget.
Personally we backpack year round (even in the snow) with a 3-season Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2-person tent.
Complete packed weight is just...
It can be hard to believe, but a tiny 6,000BTU propane furnace was enough to keep things comfortable (enough) even in that janky old uninsulated camper.
The same BTU furnace in our custom camper can straight up cook us in temps down below zero.
I keep the thermostat set to 65 or so. With two...
I say you must sort out your use-case, and balance it with desired comfort and budget.
Sure, you could go with a TotalComposites setup, which is most excellent, or even a custom job like our setup, but do you actually need it?
With occasional trips to Tahoe, depending upon stay duration, you...
It is great stuff. I applied it to our camper 4 years ago.
It never sees the inside of a shop or garage, and zero fading or any issues of any kind.
As for the tracker, I ran across this on FB a while back, and figured Id use it for inspiration.
Figured something similar, a camo of some...
A few shots of todays Monstaliner treatment.
Interior, entire front clip & firewall, and all 4 wheel wells received 2 heavy coats.
The interior will be sparse. Door panels will go back in, and flush panels in the rear, and likely some good floor mats, but no carpet to speak of. So the heavy...
We have tried essentially every glow/light/reflective collar on the market.
These are what we use currently, and the best so far.

Productive morning.
Officially the primer can me seam-sealed and/or top coated after 1-hour and up to 7 days without sanding.
Ill give it 24hrs until its seam sealed, and plan on shooting the top coat (monstaliner) next friday.
