Possible new class 5 rig. Am I nut's to choose gas motor ?

It always seems overblown until its your own problem. ;) Gassers are simply easier and cheaper to maintain. All you have to do is keep feeding them. Even then the MPG difference isnt substancial. And rolling at 12,000lbs or so, I rarely touch my my brake on downgrades even in my old 6.2...

    mounting camper box

That depends upon the chassis itself. If the chassis is "designed" to flex to avoid breakage like that of an open c-channel, then YES, the habitat/cabin/camper should be isolated. If the chassis is a fully boxed frame "designed" to resist flex, then NO, the habitat does not need to be isolated...

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

Single biggest gripe I have about our Superduty. Though throttle response doesn't seem affected on our 2012 I use it for holding/delaying shifts pulling hills, and better downshifts on downgrades.

Thats an awfully nice logging road, in use or not! Thats a proper dirt road used for local commutes around here! :D

    DIY truck bed plate

Another option is to laminate multiple layers of plywood and stagger the joints. This would be far stronger than any scarf, butt, or tongue and glue joint.

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

Tow/haul modes on both 6-speed and 10-speed fords make a huge difference. And both offer manual shift and gear lock-out. Loaded heavy in mountain country, I use tow-haul regularly, mainly to save on brakes, as it provides earlier, more aggressive downshifts. Upper gear lockout I use as...

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

What year was your truck? There do seem to be enough differences pre 2017 to 2017+ that tuning makes a solid difference. Last I checked the dyno to the wheel difference was primarily related to the trans, specifically the torque converter differences. Obviously the 10-speed will make better...

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

So is it about reliability or power? Make up your mind  And do explain how a low mileage used 2011-2016 6.2 is more reliable than a low mileage used 2017+ 6.2. Im terribly curious.

Hierarchy of hard sided campers that handle the snow/winter?

Sorry about the troubles. And no disrespect intended with my comments, quite the opposite actually. Cheers to hopefully a quick positive outcome and some legit justice.

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

A bit more power is never a problem. But considering what you drive and the mods you have, don't kid yourself that it has anything to do with saving money. And if you really wanted power you wouldn't be driving a gasser to begin with, especially on on 37's :ROFLMAO: The 2011-2016 6.2 is no...

    Looking for Tents

As far as lightweight backpacking tents, they have made massive strives in just the past decade in fabrics alone. Tubs, walls, even screens… they are tougher, lighter, and tighter packing. Getting older, I really appreciate the HV (high volume) versions of tents BigAgnes is producing. The HV...

Hierarchy of hard sided campers that handle the snow/winter?

And there is a big difference between broad industry comments and calling out specifics with regard to individuals and/or businesses. As much as a relationship gone sour stings, Im sure there is nothing Victorian/TC want LESS than to air out their laundry on a public forum.

Flatbed build, clearance between truck and camper? Alaskan and 2018 Silverado

Might want to reread the original post before your argue just to argue. OP has just 1/2” of clearance between top of cab and underside of cabover. Again, that is too close.

Oh for sure. But regardless of industry, if you are looking to maintain and keep up with the latest and greatest market trends, despicable behavior is to be expected from any so-called "friends" Expect controversy. Be surprised and elated if everything is smooth sailing

    Any 7.3 gasser owners?

All this chatter makes this used 6.2 owner happy. That tens of thousands I saved over a new 7.3 will buy a LOT of gas  Whats a new 7.3 going for these days? 50k? 60k? More?? For what its worth, I picked up our (used) 2011 6.2 6-speed Superduty with less than 120k on it for just $16k...

Need ideas to carry motorcycle and bikes at speed. Off-road capable.

I avoid adaptors if I can get away with it. For the cost of hubs, its an easy sell for me to simply swap hubs over to the desired lug pattern. If buying used, its advised you do the bearings anyhow. And even more.... if buying used and you want to add brakes.... again, simple sell. The parts...

Need ideas to carry motorcycle and bikes at speed. Off-road capable.

So long as you stick to a proper axle... being 5-lug and at least 15" wheels, the only thing limiting you to any speed will be local laws. There are only a handful of states that limit trailer towing anymore...
