New truck build: RTT vs Wedge vs Pop-up camper?

What is your garage height, that you automatically say you are parked in street with a camper? I have a Tune M1 on a Tacoma and have no issue parking in 8ft garage door. If I didn't get the roof fan, I could park it in a 7ft. For instance, on 2023 f150, from bedrail to closed roof without fan...

re-charging a big power station while driving

The OP stated he wanted to charge faster while driving. That means solar and dcdc, NOT 120v ac charging. Your Bluetti suggestion for him is bad guidance, that fast charging is for a guy sitting at home plugged into his living room...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

@MR E30 love the pics. Also great info on the 1" aluminum. Where did you put the 2gal diesel heater tank? I've been looking at a 2gal aluminum round one to strap on a back pillar... thx

    Offroad jacks... really?

If you are leaning over the handle and let go or slips before next tooth, the handle will fly upwards with enough force to break a jaw and knock teeth out. While everyone here is an steely-eyed tool-use genius, there are many, many, many kids who have never used one of these, who WILL in fact...

Solar + alternator + LiFePO4 setup for car camping with e-bike

They can all take a 12v dc input, but usually limited to 100-120W. Sometimes they use a car cigarette port which is just 10A max, so 120W. it depends on the power station how else they might charge. If you have an inverter on truck already, you can use that to plug in either the station if it...

Solar + alternator + LiFePO4 setup for car camping with e-bike

Ah is a terrible unit, if you're gonna convert then do it to Watt-hrs, which is universal no matter the voltage. So... 17.5 Ah @40V is 700 Watt-hrs. Fridge. 8.2A @ 12V is 98.4 Watts. In 24 hrs, that is 2362 Watt-hrs, and if you assume 1/3 actual run time it is 780 Watt-hrs. Add them...

Solar + alternator + LiFePO4 setup for car camping with e-bike

Why 24 24 charger? Is your car and alternator system 24v? Is your proposed battery and system 24v? You need to specify the voltages of both, it's the most importand design info after all... 150Ah at 24v is twice as much power as 12v, so it makes a huge difference. Additionally, that bike...

Harker Outdoors EDC pop-up wedge camper

I concur, bad design. I watched hundreds of review videos before settling on Tune, and I didn't see anyone who seemed happy with their EDC, while actually sitting next to anything else in a side by side comparison. Only happy buyers were, "Look what I just bought today! Think it should be...

    Camper and Truck Photos

I need more info on the 5gal ss tank!! I have spent at least 5 hrs online looking at plastic, marine, aluminum, and drag race fuel tanks, trying to find something decent for my duesel heater! This was my current favorite, to be mounted on rear pillar in a 5lb propane mount. I have a Tune M1...

Experienced opinions and concerns on pop ups and canopy campers

Well, he built it and hooked it on, so I'm sure it is somehow removable. Don't know otherwise, guy didn't post every detail about it. He has a short build video on fb owners group.

Experienced opinions and concerns on pop ups and canopy campers

No worry, Marine! I know it's a hard decision. I just want to make sure you know the options out there. I looked at them all, and I would never buy a Haitus over a Tune or Ovrlnd. The cramped sizing is just as important in 70s as climbing in the thing, more so even! Good luck.

Experienced opinions and concerns on pop ups and canopy campers

The whole thing also flips up, to use truck as truck and load sheets. Dude, first you must have a barn style door, then you complain that you won't be able to use truck for sheets with a barn door. You kinda have to make a decision on that, this guy's flip up AND side open back is unique...

Experienced opinions and concerns on pop ups and canopy campers

I posted it in your noobie thread, but apparently you missed it... Tune is offering a top to bottom sideways opening door, like Alu-Cab and what you want. At least one person has purchased that recently, for a delivery late this year. Tune us still working the designs, as that sort of door...
