Good Solar gen Power Stations for DC and light AC Truck Campers

@Marine359 all good points! I'm kind of using a powerstation, plus 100Ah Lifepo4 12v battery as extender. I just trickle charge station from battery via it's mppt if needed. Just a lot lighter than my 3072Wh Pecron extension battery, and so far on 3 and 4 day trips I rarely even need the Lifepo4.

Looking recommendations on smallish power stations for portable fridge.

Pecron e600. $538. But for only $679, on sale right now, get the e1500LFP, 1536 Watt-hrs, over 2x as much. Not too big. I use this as my total truck camper power. https://www.pecron.com/products/pecron-e1500lfp-expandable-power-station-2200w-1536wh

    Looking for Tents

How will he use it? Car camping , or backpacking? Bed of pickup or on ground? If carrying in car, the Gazelle is super popular now, almost instant setup. But pretty heavy and long, not a backpack setup.

    Ford F150 w/Powerboost

I have a Tune and a Pecron e1500LFP. And a 400W inverter in teuckbed of Tacoma. Pecron won't charge from a mod sine wave inverter like Tacoma has. I have to feed my 120v power into a power supply, boost to 50v, and feed that into the mppt solar input. Check your inverter, see if it works...

    quiet generator options?

All true, but 10pm to 6pm, while published forest quiet hours, is way too short. If you're running a gen at 930pm and 615am, YOU'RE THAT GUY!! Don't be him...

Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

P.s. I fell asleep and ran into a bridge abutment once, when young and doing a power-drive... Had I drifted 6" further off road, I would be dead. So just posting from honest concern for you, not nitpicking;)

Adding 3rd battery, LiFePO4, to AGM dual battery setup

That all looks ok to me, particularly if its all working and just the yellow dcdc lifepo4 is new. Limit the dcdc to around 30A max, such that full car power (engine, fans, air-conditioning, wipers, hibeams, turn signal, radio) plus the dcdc totals to 70A or so. Want to keep alternator demand...

Texas to Alaska to Texas. 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid driving on the Dalton Highway and the Dempster Highway. July/August 2023.

I love reading your posts, but I really cringe at your long-hours driving habits... There is such huge danger in getting tired. Truckers are limited in hour length, airline pilots are limited in flight duty time, and even in USAF, young Airmen had to show all driving legs were 8 hrs or less to...

Good Solar gen Power Stations for DC and light AC Truck Campers

P.s., there are other ways to do it. You COULD use a splitter, then individually fuse each wire run with appropriate fuse. In the video title picture, you can see in lower right that the Vevor diesel heater actually comes with its own wire fuse, so like that. And it's possible various devices...

Good Solar gen Power Stations for DC and light AC Truck Campers

Thx much You could get a splitter. Probably cost just as much, $30 or so. The reason you get the fusebox is this: Wire runs should be protected by a current interrupt device, either a fuse or circuit breaker. It is electrical safety 101. By the nature of a power station, folks are thinking...

Aux fuel tank idea - Tell me why this won't work

Sediment. Pickup tube from top is always a few mm above bottom, leaves sediment. Hole in bottom doesn't. Also leaks potential from bottom hole vs top pickup.

    Lone Peak Overland

Wow. Not gonna lie, for $8600 it had everything I want except the space of a full pop. If I was single, I'd buy this. And what an impressive app, as well as some of the best accessories in the industry. Really impressed with their act for innovation.

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

The e1500LFP is a newer, better design. Looked at both, the 1500 was the clear winner. Bought one, love it. Right now on sale for $699, plus coupons from jasonoid etc it is about $640.

Aux fuel tank idea - Tell me why this won't work

Yes, you need to research the DOT regs on this. The emissions test checks tank pressure, gas cap pressure, but that's just the one test they do to check several design regs.

re-charging a big power station while driving

You missed the point of the powerstation specs posted above... there is a 13A or 800W limit. There is also a limit on what your alternator puts out without burning it up, and its probably less than 500W. Also, good reliable devices to boost alternator 12v up to 48v with at least 350W output...
