Might actually work in OP's favor if he's looking at adding a winch bumper in the future. But even then, stock springs usually aren't enough to hold up the weight of a bumper and winch.
Guys throw 5100's on Sequoia's all the time, so fit-wise it won't be an issue. The only question is the spring rate. I don't know if it's different or not for Sequoia's vs AC Tundra's. Again, no harm in trying the setup and seeing how it works. Worst case scenario would be getting some...
I'm not positive on the answer, but I believe there is no difference between Sequoia and Tundra front ends. The thing that may make a difference is the year, and the fact that your truck is an AC and not a DC. I believe the DC and Sequoia's are more similar in dimensions (width of body and...
On page 25 of this thread I found the lower shock bolts to be the problem: https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/2005-tundra-novice-build-the-rez.176272/post-2577158
There are no instructions for the shocks I used either, so I reused the old bolts. Mine might have been worn down or the...
Thanks, glad you found it informative. That's my purpose. I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff, so I'm glad to hear my experiences are helpful to others.
What did you replace the rear shocks with? I originally used the factory bolts (or I assume they were factory), but the Icon lower...
I could never find the answer myself when I was looking a while back. I went ahead and just replaced my leafs with some from an access cab with AAL already installed. I haven't seen any problems and they seemed to fit fine when I put them in.
Project: Improve transmission and power steering cooling
Purpose
Ever since I hooked up an OBDE II reader and Torque Pro, I've been keeping an eye on the engine and tranny temps, especially while towing. I don't like how high both of them climb when I'm going uphill. Tranny gets to 240...
Crystal Ridge Trail, Liberty WA Part 2
Eventually you reach the namesake of the trail: the Crystal Mountain Lookout, which is the 2nd area of great views.
Stuart mountains off to the left:
This is a very dangerous area. Some years ago and unfortunate accident claimed the lives of two young...
Crystal Ridge Trail, Liberty WA Part 1
Two friends and I hit the Crystal Ridge Trail (4W319) in Liberty, WA on 8/19. The trail is 4.5 miles in length and climbs up and down, gaining 2500 feet total. It is rated moderate-severe, depending on conditions. It was dry when we went and not too...
Not sure if it is in spec or not as they didn't give me the numbers. I'll request them beforehand next time. I gave them instructions on what numbers I wanted....not sure if they followed that at all.
I pulled the spacers off tonight so I can drive the truck until I get the alignment figured...
Awesome! This is exactly what I needed. After I finish up a couple other projects on the truck, this will be my next purchase. It's time to get my alignment back where it needs to be.
Project: Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers install
Purpose: I was getting an annoying rub at full lock on the driver's frame ever since my last alignment. I was hoping that bumping the front wheels out a bit would solve that problem. Also, after lifting the front, it tucked the front wheels in...
I totally agree. Sway bar delete is fine until it's not. With my heavy springs it so far has not presented an issue.
Unfortunately the "quick disconnects" for the 1st gen Tundra are not quick. They still require you to crawl under the truck and use two 19mm wrenches to take off the top nut...
I still have my sway bar on the truck, but it hasn't been connected for 2 years. I leave it there in the off-chance that I want to connect it for hazardous driving in the snow.
To be honest though, I haven't felt like the truck has suffered by not having it connected. It still feels totally...
Hole in the Rock
Had a great time with a couple of people I just met, running the "Hole in the Rock" trail in Liberty, WA. This was the first time on this trail for all of us. It's about 3-1/4 mile in length, with lots of changes in elevation. Terrain varies from open, to sparse trees, to...
