    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

Ford has used a different frame and rear springs on chassis cab trucks since at least 2017. IIRC, Dodge as well. Modern boxed frames suck for 350 and heavier service trucks, with service bodies or flatbeds.

That's a pattern with FCA owners.

I forget. But IIRC you can drill or weld to the sides of a frame, never the top or bottom. Rules vary, check with your OEM.

    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

fullsize chassis cabs get strength from flex. Everything flexes. Even an oil tanker. Ever see foot thick railroad tracks spring up and down as cars cross them? An F550 is a boxed frame under the cab, rear half of the chassis is standard C frame.

    Colorado / Canyon bent frame

F250-550 Fords have way stronger frames than in the past. I think the 150 is getting a bit porky as well.

Yeah, that gets old. 12' ramps are available online. I saved the link to my phone, to email to mooches. https://www.discountramps.com/folding-quad-ramps/p/MF2-14438/ It's not a truck if it don't have ramps.

Quick, deflect topic towards a Ford problem. Must appease our GM overlords. The Cruise is a good car. The Cruise is a good car. All hail hypno toad. The Criuse is a good car.

FWC vs. Bundutec - Thoughts on importance of shower/toilet inside?

Yeah, 1600 sounds nice. Just don't fill the camper up. Especially the Bundutec. He puts a ton of storage spots in those. Check out Sumo Springs Rebel. Same idea as the Timbrens, but designed for expo people.

FWC vs. Bundutec - Thoughts on importance of shower/toilet inside?

West coast desert, and Africa? The outdoor showers are fine. Nobody is around. East Coast? An outdoor shower tent is just going to blow away. Tie it to the truck? Then it'll get blown away and swing into the side of the truck and camper denting both. Nothing is more fun than...

I might go back down to 35s on my Ram 3500. Thoughts?

It's the cheapest, easiest way to get a full extra inch of ground clearance. Maybe priceless, maybe not.

why are rooftop tents so expensive?

They just are. If you find that you're over $3000, I suggest going in whole hog and getting the big Bundutec with the electric winch. Nice RTT, $5000.

    Ram 2500/3500 Info

Those skids are fine for what I do. Crossing a breakover, gently, oops. Back up. The guys that drag the bottom of the truck on rocks, not so much. I want a sticker that a slide in camper fits in. No PW, Raptor, Rubi for me.

    Old Junk vs. New Junk?

I wasn't upset with GM before those. Now they're categorized with congress, lawyers, and crawford county FL.

Zip-tie snow chains, has anyone seen or used them ROFL!

I'd try them. No dumber than saying that a GM Express van is a safe family vehicle.

    Old Junk vs. New Junk?

Maybe. If they just warrantied the guys frame, and said ''whoops, crumple zone'', I'd be fine with it. Freaky stuff happens. But to stiff their own customer like that, is pretty low.

    2016-2017 F150 4x4 EcoBoost - Real world experiences??

How many stops? Idle time? I recommend only using hwy mileage. That's the only fair test. Ashland OH, to Dayton, all hwy, 77mph cruise control nets 16+mpg on my F250 with XL wheels and tires. I get 0 in the city, and every time I touch the brake pedal, kiss 0.5mpg away.

    Old Junk vs. New Junk?

Nope. That one's news to me! Big giant hole in the frame where it turns, and the shock mounts? Sounds like great engineering to me.

    Old Junk vs. New Junk?

GM won't even warranty tail lights with enough water in them to keep a gold fish thrilled for a year. On a box stock, leased car. That they'll be getting back in 8 months. GM Arcadia with the entire drivers side door filled with ice? Nope, no warranty there either. Don't forget the Zr2...
