    2019 Ram Power Wagon

Thanks. Yeah that's way more useful than manual shift. I use my lockout buttons every day.

    2019 Ram Power Wagon

Does it lock out overdrives while retaining auto operation, or is it just manual shift?

    2019 Ram Power Wagon

No, I use the lockouts often. I'll lock out at a stop sign, all the way down to 3, to reduce one upshift, and subsequent downshift on the upcoming hill climb. And tow haul often needs turned off in slick conditions. I always lockout both overdrives in city driving. It the trans shifting up...

90's f450 good base for expedition build?

It's a cheap engine to rebuild anyways. Don't sweat it. Just keep money on hand for engine rebuild or clutch replacement. You might have to un mount the flat bed a bit for wheeling. Sometimes people get carried away bolting those down.

    2019 Ram Power Wagon

Yes it is. But on the Ford your overdrive lockout +/- button is there, as well as the tow/haul mode button. And those we do need to fiddle with without taking hands off of the wheel. The only better option that I can think of, is Raptor paddle shifters, with the +/- buttons added onto the...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

I don't let other people wheel my truck. Problem solved. I don't care about how num num's from SC drive when it's icy outside. I think you're way overestimating what a good front autolocker does in a fullsize truck. It's hardly noticeable in snow. Maybe some more wheel feedback under...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

When you only have glare ice, switch back to 2wd. The front hubs unlock, and the front locker disappears. You don't need 4wd to keep up with a Honda Odessy minivan. That's sad. That's really sad. Hardpacked icey sleet nonsense that I drove through perfectly fine, with a POS 1993 Mercury...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

Come on over to the snow belt sometime. https://www.currentresults.com/Weather-Extremes/US/snowiest-cities.php I get to work in most of those cities in the winter. Snow is easy peasy with pavement or gravel underneath. The deeper it is the better for 4wd and lockers. When it gets plowed or...

    Increasing Power Wagon payload

Tell that to the guy getting sued for his ARB bumper. Even if insurance covers it, it's only to a monetary point. Once that's reached, you're on the hook for the rest. A $500k policy is only a couple surgeries.

    2019 Ford Ranger Taking Orders

Off road? F750 < F350/250 < F150 < Ranger < Yj < DRZ400 < Ktm EXC500. Smaller is nearly always better. But a DRZ can't go on the hwy or tow a trailer. Besides, what narrow trails? F350, F150, Jeep, and the Ranger, are all the exact same darn size. What size is that? Too big for any...

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

The army isn't exactly leaving a perfectly flat desert road to run over a small rock pile because it would look cool on a facetube page, either. So the h1 is spec'd as such. I used to be part of the selectable front, autolocker rear group. Completely backwards, after all of those years. smh.

Post Pics of Your Hard Side Camper!

Darn tough campers. And no wood. Too bad they were so good that the big rv companies bought them to keep them from becoming popular. And possibly to keep that technology from being asked for in TT's and 5'ers.

Open Differentials vs. Traction Control vs. Lockers

Uphill, medium grip, switch backs, is where I see the benefits of this setup the most. Front autolocker, unlocked rear. Stop and lock the rear if there's a big rock or log in the switchback. Spool rear, open front, always struggled there. In hindsight, the rear lockers cause understeer...

Truma? / what is a hard side camper like to drive? (cross winds, handling on highways)

That's why I'm going Capri when I can afford it. Going to opt for nothing up high except for AC. No cabinets, no fridge, no microwave. More like a pop up. All my clothes stay in a duffel or suitcase on the floor, or in the cab of the truck. I just don't need to storage space up top, and...

    Talk to me about suspension

Those tires should fit with just an inch in the front and no rear adjustment IIRC. Bad lifts can reduce the front downtravel, which gives a poor quality ride. You also have to be mindful of cv angles. King OEM coilovers and OEM rears are available from Filthymotorsports. Wait until the 150...

    Increasing Power Wagon payload

So the only questions that you need to ask: Do you want your insurance coverage to actually work? Do you want to be legal? If no: Buy a PW, put a camper on, and throw some Sumo springs at it. If yes: Buy a regular Dodge or Ford and build it up correctly. If you're just going to rip out the...

Be blunt: is this forum out of my league? (TT modified for off road use)

Sounds like you're ahead of the curve here. Heck there's a Sprinter van forum here. Also half of the people at ''Expo East'' got stuck in mud. Not to underestimate mud or anything, but hilarious at the same time. There's even fullsize Dodge guys here, that don't even know that their front...

Truma? / what is a hard side camper like to drive? (cross winds, handling on highways)

The ''best 8'' article you posted lists only campers with generous rear over hangs. And some are a bit porky. Get a DRW f350 and sidewind worries will disappear, if you select an almost SRW truck friendly sized camper. Also consider smaller, no overhang, Capris campers. They are smaller and...

1st Gen Tundra w/ Firestone Air bags...???

Also, for others, consider Sumo Rebel springs. They're split in half, and come apart during articulation.
