I've had great luck with Behr DeckOver from Home Depot. Stuff seems crazy tuff and never got damaged in my JKU. I don't think any abuse that will occur inside a vehicle will damage the stuff.
I thought I was 100% done with the build yesterday, but it just occurred to me I hadn't attached the table face yet or installed my Stone Brewery bottle opener. My wife was kind enough to let me have a few hours this afternoon.
I also put the fridge drop slide in, still trying to decide...
Finished the drawer system today, only thing left is to finish it. Probably won't happen until the middle of May or so. Next step is to get a ARB 50qt and get the fridge drop slide installed as I sold my Smitty ARTEC fridge. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
I have had great luck over the years with Behr Deck-over, get the less gritty version. I'm going to stain and varnish my new box, looking at the general water based products.
Finally got the slide out table just right. It's not pictured but I covered the bottom with 1/8" underlayment board. That reduced the friction from the carpet without adding much height, but it was still too tight so I added a middle support and relieved the center of the slide out table so it...
It's not completely finished, but I wanted to post up my drawer build for my 5th gen 4R. Initially I was going to do a whole pull out kitchen, spent a ton of time designing it only to realize I just need to build a teardrop trailer so that's now in the planning stages. I settled on a casing made...
The new Adventure series looks pretty cool if you're going to stick to campgrounds or light off-roading. It's dual axle and has 82" of interior height. Weight is 3100lbs, 4000lb cargo capacity and can have dual flip out beds rated at 1100lbs each. They say it'll hold a 4 door Razor too and...
Yesterday was beautiful so I decided to go ahead and start building the outer casing out of 1/2" baltic birch. I'm not ready to move forward with the build yet, I'm going to keep the casing in the back for a few weeks to make sure I don't miss the space. As of right now its minimally screwed...
It's called sketchup and it's free for personal use. Very easy to learn.
All the drawers do lock open and closed via the Accuride 9308 slides. I'll be using a locking slide on both sides of the drawer to eliminate side to side play. The utensil drawer is the only one that doesn't lock in, it...
You are correct. I can't pull the sink forward because it would run into the drawer. As for the 3/8 ply I'm hesitant to go thinner than 1/2" because I'll be using pocket screws and glue. I want to ensure I've got enough wood to bite into and with the long lever arm, I don't want anything...
Thanks for the input. That would work, but the fridge is using a drop slide and the drawer can't so I'm afraid I would have a hard time seeing the drawers contents.
Just thought I would share my progress on my design. First off let me state that this design is a modified version of Maddiesel67's that can be seen here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/228661-cargo-drawers-w-pull-out-kitchen-build-thread.html
I'll be using rivnuts placed in the...
nice alternative solution here: http://www.livingoverland.com/2013/08/12-volt-water-system-scepter.html
The in tank pump and faucet with built in switch is perfect. Just plug it into your 12v.
I'm still finalizing the design but right now the drawer and large pullout holding the sink will be 36" accuride 9308s, the stove section is 26" accuride 9308s and the smaller utensils drawer/cutting board on the end is 26" accuride 3307s. Everything is lockout for stability. The fridge is on a...
