I plan on having a 4 Wheel Camper on my Tundra part time, it seems like either of these may work for me. I am concerned that the vehicle will ride rough without out the camper. Truck is currently stock , but will have a mild(1.5 - 2”)BP51 lift in the near future.
I have that Victron with the built in Bluetooth, the range is basically me standing by the front of the vehicle. Anything farther and nothing . My switch pro gives me 20’ of range from the truck and they are both mounted under the hood within 5’ of each other .
I have the Victron 75/15 currently . I have it set for AGM as I am running Odyssey (s). I was thinking about carrying two panels so I could set them out and leave them to track during the day without me having to move by one panel constantly.
Good to know . I would think that with both controllers my monitoring the battery status , they would protect the battery from over charging ? My built in Victron shows reduced wattage when the battery is nearing full charge , transitioning to float. At first I thought there was an issue with...
While using the portable with its own controller, is there any “interference” if the built in panel/controller is also feeding to the battery? Even if the built in is partially shaded and at less than full output? In my mind you are simultaneously charging the battery from two sources.
Do you have a DC-DC charger in between the starting battery and house batteries, in addition to your isolator? I see that a full size Instant Pot is rated at 1200 watts. I wonder if the the charging system can keep up with the draw while cooking?
Ah . Roger that. After installing my dual battery I wished I had gotten the ACR with the switch. Even though I only isolate the batteries once a month while on a battery charger at home .
No problem . If you want pics of the mounting location , or even how the connections look after 2 years let me know. If i were to do it Differently, I’d want the Victron without the built in Bluetooth . Then use the external BT dongle so I could have the transmitter in a location that would...
I have that Victron mounted under my hood, no issues after having it there for the past two years. Bluetooth output is weak, as I need to be no more than 10’ from the vehicle. Compared to my switch-pro which I can read 25’-30’ away.
When the house battery is fully charged, and the redarc is also fed with solar(model with built in MPPT) does it then charge the starter battery? I think the Renogy has that feature.
This thread might help as well.

I used a trolling motor plug and socket. Welded a tab on my plate bumper for the female end of the set up.
