Well I had a long chat with luke today at the safari. Looks like it needs a new compressor, tranny service and bushing, rear latch fix, front dif was almost dry and was starting to whir. This lr3 needs almost 3 grand to get it sorted. All common stuff but really wasn't looking for coming out of...
Luke at the rover shop is doing a prepurchase inspection on the LR3 tomorrow. It looks brand new and has an impeccable service history. 55K miles. There are a few issues such as boot latch and it needs the suspension compressor dryer and seals rebuilt.
What other typical fixes do I need to...
I'll likely move to 33's when my 35's are gone. It looks a lil funny on a 3.5 inch lift but entirely capable for the trails i'm riding and places I'm exploring.
I got the automatic with selectable shifting. It's my first auto tranny and I'm enjoying it more than I thought with the 3.6 litre...
I opted for the AEV JK 350 conversion package. the motor is the same - 3.6 litre I opted to go with 4.10 and dana 44's. The 35 inch KM2's are great off road and okay on highway. I like the 35's but wouldn't go 37 for the type of trails I do. 35 is best for my needs 99 percent of the time...
service records on this one owner are all there. It was maintained by the LR dealership for the last 8 years and has a good history. I'm going to have a prepurchase inspection done and then build it out. :bike_rider:
Seller is in a swanky part of urban ATL so I'd imagine they are loaded and didnt drive it frequently. I'm calling the owner today so we shall see. There are some niggles with the boot latch switch and suspension sensor...
we need to do a comparo towing your red tearbeast and my conqueror with both our JK's. Not that I'm looking to get into a teardrop, but just genuinely curious what the difference is. :chef:
now I'm wondering if I should buy this stocker with 55K miles and build it up or buy the higher mileage one that rovertrader has that's already sorted...:smiley_drive:
Think I found my first rover. One owner 05 LR3 that is low mileage and too good a deal to pass up. I need to know what things to look for in an 05 LR3.
It's a one owner never off-road. The owner recently replaced all tires and the rear brakes. Vehicle has 55K. There are two issues...
Man the timing on his thread couldn't be any worse (or better). Found an 05 LR3 HSE with low miles and was thinking about pulling the trigger but the rover talk about buying up spare parts makes me shudder a bit. I guess it shouldn't but it makes me wanna look at a yoda.
