2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

These showed up today! Gathering up the last bits and pieces before the front bumper install. Baja Designs Squadron Sport, Wide Cornering (Amber) These will take the place of my factory fogs. I'm interested to see how the amber helps during actual fog and snow, because we get a lot of...

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Makes sense. I need to wait for the welder to get back in town and then I can see about having things mocked up and then welded. After that I'll have to decide if I'm powder coating the sliders or painting them myself. I've heard and read various opinions on this. Seems like a lot of guys...

Leibbrand's 06 DC Limited Tundra Build

Love the color, and the tailgate. What's the benefit of doing under-axle leaf springs like you're doing? -Kevin

Brian's 2006 Toyota Tundra Quicksand Build

I believe the round holes on the bottom are to access the mounting bolts for the winch. I was looking at mine to see how the winch is supposed to be installed and that's what it looked like.

    2004 Tundra Adventure Cab - Build/Adventure Thread

Towing a wakeboard boat with my Tundra drops my gas mileage in half. I get 15mpg normally (33's with lift, 3.91 ratio, accounting for difference in tire size) and when towing I get between 8-9. That includes steep grades. With the weight on the back of toyotech's Tundra that mpg seems within...

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Question for you guys....the sliders need to have the mounting brackets welded into place on them. Should I wait to powder coat those until everything is assembled and ready to go, or can the separate pieces be powder coated and then welded together? I've never welded anything before so I...

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Sorry, been a while since I've updated here. Loubaru, no we didn't have to go up the same hill thankfully. Pretty sure I would not have made that. This hill was the point of no return....either turn back or go down and get through whatever was left. As far as I knew there was no other way...

Saga of Stanley Fab - Builds of sorts!

Wow. Love the truck man. White was what I was wanting on my 1st gen, but unfortunately there were none out there. Tell me about that rear bumper...custom?

    seanpistol's 01 Tundra

Wow, what a bummer. Glad everyone's alright. This Tundra build is what got me wanting to start working on mine, so it's sad to see it such rough shape. So help out a newbie here....what does SAS mean??

    2004 Tundra Adventure Cab - Build/Adventure Thread

I think both of us were expecting the actual delivery to be much quicker. He apparently had to use a different company than he normally does to ship to WA now. He was thinking this company would be faster, but it doesn't look like it. I know he wrapped up the bumper and sliders a couple weeks...

    2004 Tundra Adventure Cab - Build/Adventure Thread

This is exactly the set options I have on mine that should hopefully be here any day now. I'm really looking forward to it! I hope Billy has another set of hands to help him get this group buy turned around quickly though. I'm sitting at over 5 months from when I placed order with delivery...

    2004 Tundra Adventure Cab - Build/Adventure Thread

Wow, those hubs are beautiful. Wish mine looked that good. My backing plates are rusting away and the spindles are pretty rough. I'm interested to see how the Harrop locker works out. Someday I want to add a locker and I think I'd prefer e-locker over air. -Kevin

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

I do have a set of Brute Force sliders coming in....I went with rear kickouts. That would've helped immensely on this trail, but I also wonder if it would've made it impossible to get through some spots. Would the kickouts catch on both sides in some exceptionally tight areas? No idea without...

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Thanks guys for the encouragement. More to come on the build soon hopefully. In the meantime I finally got to take the truck out on a real trail run. A buddy of mine and I went to a place close to Manastash Ridge in central Washington. It's a bit of a drive in, and terrible washboarding on...

    Trailscape's 06 Tundra

I can't really help on the amber lights as I have no experience with those yet. But I do love the Satoshi grille mod. Are there instructions somewhere online on how to do this? I've always been a fan of that look...if it's not too difficult I'm considering doing the same on my Tundra. -Kevin

    Tunoma's 2005 Tundra - DC Build

Great to see another Gen1 Tundra, and another 4-door at that. I'm working on a very similar build to yours at the moment, with a few slight differences. Icon's on mine instead of King's, and Wheeler's AAL in the back. I also have a Brute Force Fab front and sliders coming, hopefully in the...

    1st gen 1 - 1.5" lift?

I had a spacer lift on my '05 Tundra that the previous owner had installed. Stay away from them. The ride on the road wasn't bad, but wheel travel was extremely rough. There was construction going on around me all this summer, and the areas where the asphalt had an inch or so drop due to it...
