    Coolant Filters

I would have never considered coolant filters until I got bit by this: Its hard to tell but the bottom 2/3 of the radiator was completely plugged :Wow1: I may actually consider a coolant filter after the head job this mess cost me........................

5.0 Coyote motor in an E series?

I was under the impression that these motors were really wide at the valve covers. Probably make for a tight fit!

Road to SEMA, A 90 day build ROUND 2

I am going to guess its ball joint related just because the pattern looks similar: But I have already been taken care of by Weldtec! :sombrero: x2 there have been a lot of these vans coming out of the woodwork on this board lately. They are seriously attractive price wise compared to other...

Road to SEMA, A 90 day build ROUND 2

That's what I thought at first but then I thought that quigley used torsion bars when they converted w/ IFS?

Road to SEMA, A 90 day build ROUND 2

I have to stop looking at your rendering. I have always wanted a desert tan rig and seeing it on an xpress is giving me bad ideas about painting mine.

I will chime in since I have been checking this thread and instagram religiously for the last bit. I for one am glad your crazy and going to town on a spanking new van! Need more suspension pics! I have been following on instagram and I am super curious, I have been drafting my own control...

Chevy 1500 AWD van door pockets - Kaizen foam

http://www.lowes.com/pd/AWP-Polyester-Zippered-Closed-Tool-Bag/50175657 I have been using these for my van. They fit in the deep narrow pocket in the middle of the door really well. Currently keep my ratchet straps in one and jumper cables in the other door. They are like $10!

2003 savana 1500 awd with explorer conversion package

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Conversion vans are nice but I shied away from them because in the end I did not want so many windows. The suspensions are the same between the cargo and the passenger vans. I think the reason you see more cargo vans being built up is they are blank...

Anyone build their own van high top?

I got my top at at the local pick-n-pull for $50 on half off day, I couldn't build one for that price! Plus if I built one it woulda looked like garbage..............

Rust prevention / bar and chain oil / fiberglass insulation

Sounds like a recipe for an oily mess to me! But then again out west we are spoiled with low humidity and not a whole lot of rust. Even being next to the Great Salt Lake!

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

I have been using a combination of GMPartsDirect.com and RockAuto.com. I open two windows side by side and just compare the part #'s. I like GMPartsDirect because they have the factory exploded diagrams. Not the best if your looking for old parts but for newer rigs its great!

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

The arms should bolt up. The inner 930 CV adapter, shaft length and knuckle extension may be a tad different. Depending on how close the truck and van knuckles are it may be possible to swap knuckles and bolt nearly the whole of the kit in. I am considering grabbing my buddies jigs and fabbing...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

Shoot I somehow forgot the white keys! Don't forget the unit bearings, the CV boots and brake lines. If memory serves me right the only things that are van specific in the front end are the CV shafts and the steering knuckles. Out back the springs are dimensionally the same as a '92-'98 1500...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

Shooting from the hip I would think since the 2500 AWD has same GVRW and the same 6 lug axles it would not surprise me if they are identical. However it wouldn't surprise me if the torsion keys are the same but the bars themselves stiffer. One way to find out is if there is any trace of paint...

GM fullsize AWD Van Info thread

I couldn't agree more! Torsion keys are not terribly specialized parts. Just a hunk of cast steel! They even cross-over between manufacturers too! If you really want to go the cheap route stock F150/expedition keys will lift an AWD just the same as the fancy pants $250.00 keys. Mine set me...

    Pop-tops: are they worth it?

I was fully planning on going the pop-top route, but I snagged a 14 inch tall "TV top" off a conversion van from the local pick-n-pull on half off day....................best $50 I have spent on the van thus far! Only spent one night in it and its a total game changer! The storage over the...
