I agree, it's going to be awhile before we will see any true reliability standings on any of these new hybrids and plug in hybrids. The Ford Powerboost has barely been out a year, the Wranger 4xe a few months and despite Toyota having made hybrids for a number of years now, this iteration is new...
Sorry guys, I was multi-tasking while I was watching the video and missed the line "current generation has the tri-design", it is in fact a fully boxed frame which is why they switched to coil springs in the rear to improve the ride over leaf springs, given the 20% increase in rigidity in the...
Honestly, the whole go fast suspension just doesn't suit my style of off-roading. The Pro, Raptor, TRX/Power Wagon or even the Gladiator Mojave seem counter intuitive to overlanding with the reduction of payload. It's just not worth the extra cost of the packages to me.

I want to say about mid way through, they called it a tri-design, combination of boxed, c-channel and sub frame I believe?

You guys should check out this video with the chief engineer from Toyota, super interesting stuff. Not only is is not a fully boxed frame, but they claim to have solved the "crap from the bed blowing in the cab issue" with some aerodynamic tweaks. I'm not a Toyota fan boy of any kind but I do...
The Pioneer platform has the crossbar built into it. You can save some height if you go with the low profile non-quick release feet.
My JK has a 2.5" lift on 285/70-17s and still fits through my 7ft.high garage door.
I'm in a similar situation with the Backbone/Platform Rack/RTT and no great way to pull the tent off quickly for the same reasons, plus it's a pain to move around and store. I have a set of Rhino Aero Bars in the garage and was thinking about getting the QR feet for those but I'm not sure the...
That's what I was thinking, more lockable storage in the Frunk, leaves the bed open for larger items. The patent Ford filed for the extended range battery pack shows it as a removable battery+generator but that's all speculation at this point. My buddy has a crew cab F150 with the 6.5ft bed and...
Hitch carrier?
Just because Ford filed a patent for an extended battery in the bed, like a tool box, doesn't necessarily mean they're going that route nor does does it mean the bed is full. Manufacturers file all kinds of patents that never see the light of day.
I get it though, might be an...

It comes with various hoses and fittings, and to be honest I thought it was overkill and yet I ended up using all of them and added a 90 degree for the fill.
Well it's been awhile since my last build update. I fixed the awning mount using some threaded tube inserts and bolted the awning to the uprights. I also added a bottom bracket to where the awning attaches just in case there is an issue with the cross piece weld. Bolting it on allows a little...
I did go with the double rail, it wasn't so much a storage issue, but that does help as well. I just like having my bed ready to go when we hit camp. Also, with the double rail I like that you have the double points of attachment for awnings and such. We seem to encounter lots of washboard roads...
I ended up purchasing the CVT Mt. Hood, the new design that allows your sleeping bags, pillows and the ladder to be stored inside. Absolutely love it! It bolted directly up to my RhinoRack Pioneer platform.
