On my Jeep, I went rear and passenger facing with my CVT Mt. Shasta, gear up front. We used the annex quite a bit and one of the nice things about it was I could unzip the "back door" of the annex next to the Jeep and access the rear passenger door without leaving the annex. I have rock rails...
Definitely a good deal! I did get the Black Friday deal but I got the CVT Mt. Hood with the 2 slot channels on the sides top and bottom which is not on the website yet. It's a new model so the discount was only 20% but still very worth it. It's identical to the current version except that it's...
I never purchased an Odyssey. However, I did just purchase a CVT Mt. Hood which I should have installed in the next couple weeks. I'll start a new thread once I have it.

FWIW - My friend has this Camplux:

I just noticed on Amazon that it's only rated to 2000ft but he's used it all over Colorado (and a good chunk of the west) and has never had an issue. We...
LOL yes it's easy to over think! I used one switch and ran separate lines for each, just do your coils close to the switch. I mounted my switch and fuse panel in the tongue box. I never had any binding issues like one has when trying to lift the rack manually.
I did have one switch controlling them all and there wasn't enough lag to need to catch them up. The stroke of my actuators was only 16 inches so the lag wasn't much of an issue and you can just hit the switch in reverse for a sec at the top to level things off. My build thread is in my sig. It...
My buddy is selling an all original, super clean, no modifications 1992 4Runner 4WD V6 he picked up as a project. He is very anal retentive and has gone through the whole thing, cleaning it up, addressing any issues and brought it back to it's former glory. It does have a small scrape/dent on...
When you wire up the actuators, use the same length of wire for each actuator which will help keep them moving at close to the same pace. Heim joints will take out any issues with binding, that's the way I did mine and it worked well.
I'm guessing not too much difference but I've had very good customer service with CVT and that's who my money will likely go to if I decide to with this particular design.

Looking for feedback on the latest iteration of the CVT Mt. Hood clamshell tent. Who's got one?

Thanks in advance.
Congrats on your purchase, I'm guessing I know the original owner :)
I was able to get enough access to the front and rear on my trailer with the Diamondback, without having to use the actuators in most cases. The Diamondback is a great product, super solid, durable, and super nice people...
In your price range, I've had decent luck with the Btech GMRS-V1 and you can get battery eliminators to plug them into a 12 volt socket. Might be worth a look.

Sure, no problem. M101 US which is what I currently have and you can find all the details in my build thread https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/dstocks-m101a1-build-or-the-reality-i-needed-a-new-project.131919/ The M101 Canadian is similar to the US M416. I want to say the axle with...
For me it was the advantage of knowing if my Jeep could fit through a narrow part of a trail, the trailer would as well. The weight reduction is certainly a bonus, you can spec the axle hubs to match your vehicle so you just need 1 spare tire and In my case, I wanted to add electric brakes to...
