Hey all, thanks for all the input!
Here's the latest. The day after picking up the 4Runner, I went to back up out of our driveway and as soon as I took my foot off the brake, and started to move back, there was a clunk from the passenger rear brake. For those that are wondering, the parking...
Thanks for checking.
I am likely going to give the service manager a call as he is aware of the issue. They installed a different supposedly better Toyota pad this time and the dealership ate the cost of the pads and I paid for labor. Even if they screwed up the last brake pad replacement or...
I was thinking seized caliper as well because passenger side was squeaking regardless of the brakes being applied. The dealership claims to have gone through the system looking for caliper issues, etc. The first time they replaced them at 15k there was no noises to indicate they were worn.
I...
I posted this in a 4Runner forum but I thought I'd throw it out here as well....
Albeit this is our first Toyota, but at 15K and now at 30K the rear brake pads are worn out on our 2018 TRD Off-Road Premium. I can't find any posts to indicate this is normal and the dealership claims to have gone...
Gobi makes Accessory bars that attach to the side rails of the rack, bolt the RTT to the bars and then it's just 4 bolts, easily accessible on the rack rails to attach and remove the tent.
Just curious, do you find the Pentastar lacking in the Gladiator? I get the mileage and torque of the diesel are superior but so is the price tag. I also get if you just always wanted a diesel!
Thanks.
You'd have to plug them or just leave them in place. If you went with the RhinoRack system I don't believe they would interfere with the install as they appear to be much further in board of where the RhinoRack mounts.
Yeah, I would get rid of them. If you want something that can support a RTT you should look at the Rhino Rack Backbone system or any rack that transfers the load to the frame or rollbar in the Jeep.

My experience with the National Luna system here:

The short version? I ditched the NL and went with a Blue Sea ACR which is still working flawlessly.
If the Yakima Landing pads are just screwed into the hardtop with no support underneath, I would not mount anything of significant weight to the roof, especially not a roof top tent.
Thanks for info! On my Jeep, the current RTT is about 150lbs I believe, and the Rhino Rack platform is another 60lbs so I'm already in the neighborhood. I could lose the platform and just go with crossbars since the Alpha would cover the whole thing. We also have a 2018 4Runner (still stock...
I'd have to agree with you there. I've been eyeballing this setup and one that has an AT Habitat for it's camper. I'd love to see some more interior pics as well.

I'd be curious to hear how the 4Runner handles with all that weight on the roof. I believe the tent alone weighs 238lbs, plus the weight of the rack underneath it. Thanks!
Nice find! It looks like it's in great shape.
I've been pulling mine for a few years now with my 2013 JK, works like a charm. I love that it's not wider than the Jeep especially on narrow trails.
Have fun with the build!
