Fred the Van. The More We Explore's Adventure Van Build Thread

I will be following this closely. My wife and I are planning something very similar to this. Quit the rat race and explore the country for several months trying to figure out where we want to live and what we want to do with our lives. Right now I am trying to come up with the guts to sell my...

    Do I really NEED a 7.3L E350?

Well, no...... I had found one that I was going to pick up the next day but my ride backed out. Got very frustrated but started doing a lot more thinking and talking to the folks and decided to keep my Tacoma. If I could buy a van and keep the truck then I would but that is not in my budget...

Is This Van Stealthy Enough to Stealth Camp With?

What is so wrong in not owning a house? There are some very sad opinions in here on what this guy is trying to do. Is it affecting you at all? Can the van not be his home so therefore he is not "homeless"? I would expect a little more freedom of thought from a Devil Dog.

WTT: ARB 50qt For Your 37qt.

By the time I could sell mine for a decent price and ship it to the OC I am afraid I would not have enough to buy a good 37qt.

No, not this year. I wish I was heading out there about now! Sorry!

WTT: ARB 50qt For Your 37qt.

I would like to trade my one year old ARB 50qt fridge for a smaller 37qt model. The wife and I started using a small cooler up front for drinks and do not fill the 50 up now. Also the wife is a little too short to see in and get stuff out where I have it mounted. The 3 inch shorter 37qt model...

Is This Van Stealthy Enough to Stealth Camp With?

Please tell me in this post where he said he was camping on other people's property? Are you talking about staying in an apartment or hotel parking lot and calling that trespassing? I sure hope you don't pull the tags off of your mattress or any other similar ILLEGAL activities! You are...

Is This Van Stealthy Enough to Stealth Camp With?

And to the OP I don't think that Van is very stealthy. It might fit in FL or AZ where there are some snow birds but it looks pretty camperish to me.

    Thank you Ranger Rick! You are obviously missing the whole point of this thread and may I dare say a large portion of this forum. And to steal your own post;

SOLD: 2004 Toyota Tacoma XtraCab 4x4 w/SR5 & TRD package Radiant Red

Hate to see you sell it. This truck was one I dreamed about and eventually stole some ideas from when I got my radiant red double cab. If anyone questions your price they should read you build thread and see the time, effort, and money you put into this truck! Good luck with the sale!

I am with you on that. About to attempt to build a swing out for my truck. Good luck!

    rtt footprints

It depends on what tent you plan on getting. The larger the tent, the larger the foot print needed. With a spare taking up 2 1/2 ft you will need the smallest tent made. I know my CVT Mt Shasta takes up every bit of my 5ft roof rack. You can have a little overhang but not much. Honestly don't...

    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

Hey Dave, This is a pretty amazing set up! How long do you think you +1 could live out of this comfortably? Thinking about selling my 1st gen Tacoma to buy an E350 for a 6 month trip around the country. The van would have more room and the ability to stealth camp but if I did something like...

    Do I really NEED a 7.3L E350?

I got him to as low as $5500. I am not going to able to get over there and look at until sometime next week now. Maybe that's a good thing? Give me time to change my mind.

    Do I really NEED a 7.3L E350?

Yep, that's it. Was trying to keep it quiet to keep the lurkers away. May be all for not though. Got the money all ready to go and take a look at it but lost my co driver to drive my truck back at the last minute. Yay!!! Preferred the EB but after multiple layouts in a mocked up RB outline in...
