Try RS Hughes. We get a better price through them and I don't believe they have any shipping restrictions. Go to the 3M site to determine what you need.
We'd gladly build you one, even put a custom designed rack on it for ya, but being on the other coast is tough for shipping. Any decent fabrication shop should be able to make one, but it won't be cheap.
Have to throw in a vote for the Cruisemaster DO hitches. Light years ahead in terms of design. We just rolled our prototype trailer 360 degrees. The whole drawbar was tweaked, the chain holders on the truck destroyed, and the whole hitch bent along the drawbar axis. Thankfully the trailer...
We use the Timbren on our camper trailers and the Cruisemaster on our self-contained trailer. From a build and ride perspective, the CM is by far a more adjustable, robust, and smoother riding system. That being said, they are two very different options. The Timbren is simple with very little...
We have a 10' long all-composite trailer that is finishing up for a spring release. Not much bigger than a 5x10 teardrop. On Cruisemaster suspensions, fully kitted out, kitchen, toilet/shower, queen bed and 3 person dinette that folds out for sleeping one.
As end-users would you rather see a single or double shock on your trailer?
Double shocks such as simple mono tubes, like Cruisemaster uses on their XT, or a better performing single non-reservoir shock. An example would be the Gabriel Ultra series for the double, and the Bilstein 5125 series...
Nice to see someone saying this out loud. We use timbrens for simplicity, convenience, their service to OEMs, not for the ground clearance. We're working on another option using a three-link and airbags hopefully for next year.
The Patriot and other trailers with tent for sleeping quarters is a whole different breed than a hard-sided camper. You cannot even compare the ruggedness of the two. Two very different demographics, neither one right or wrong. That's the beauty of the market, something for everyone!
Hi all, you can indeed run the lift and long spindle with 12" Dexter brakes with parking brake. We use the handbrake on our Cruisemaster DO-35 hitch and run the wire through a couple of brackets to direct it in line to the hub/lever. Here is one of our units in production. It doesn't have...
Not sure what type of fiberglass cloth you're using but I see chopped strand (CSM) in the photo. Not really adding any strength with that. Do some more research and look at different weaves for more strength. Lots of options for multidirectional cloth.
Look at Henkels/Loctite UR 8431 and the other 843X series of moisture-cured polyurethanes. I spoke with Styromax in AU several years ago, one of their larger manufacturers, and they were using a similar Henkels product. It was 2 part poly not available in North America. After speaking with...
The price pretty reasonable when you look at cost of materials alone. The panels and the aluminum probably account for 30%+. Lithium batteries, full solar, inverters etc. Probably over $30k in material costs alone. Plus these small builders don't get great volume discounts.
3A composites are the makers of alucobond and dibond. Very similar, alucobond has thicker aluminum. Dibond easier to source most any sign shop will be able to get 3 or 3mm. Alupanel is a UK manufacturer identical to dibond and for me it's cheaper. In Northern CA. They all come in colors as...
