quick question for those with slide-out cooking systems

Yes, plus I can always just set the stove too on a table. I do have an awning that will be overhead, and I think there is enough roon to even setup one of my small camping tables underneath it in the rain. It is nice to have options. The whole reasoning I designed this new setup was to have the...

quick question for those with slide-out cooking systems

That is a great question, as I just finished my setup over the holidays. Have not used it yet, but looking forward to it. I sure hope the cooking smell does not get absorbed into the interior.

    Fridge/freezer options

I have the National Luna Weekender 50 Twin Fridge/Freezer. They make a bigger model with seperate controls for each section, mine does not. But there is a reason Overland Journal and other publications rate the National Luna as one of the best out there. That is what helped me make my decision.

    Camp Stoves, lets discuss

Nice score there, I use to use one just like it back in the early 80s. If you want a great stainless steal set that is also non stick, look into the Magma with ceramic coating. It is a bit heavy, but I have been using it for a few years. This coming season I will be using the GSI Pinnacle small...

    Lets See Your Solar Setups

I have upgraded again, I took possession of the Overland Solar 120 watt folding one yesterday. Owner Brian drove to my home and hand delivered it too, as he was on this side of the mountains, very cool. He dropped by yesterday around 4 PM, and I tore into it to check it out, and read the paper...

Nope, sorry I do not. I do have some Skottle recipes in pics/videos over on Instagram though from using it at home during the summer.

Corey's 2007 FJ Cruiser built for expedtion/overland, & daily driver

I camped there with my parents in my older brothers tent trailer back around '72 or '73. Took a few days to get there from Seattle, but it was worth it. The mosquitoes are HUGE, and so are the bears. This guy I follow on the 'Tube lives up that general direction, I am sure he may be on the...

Thanks, I think I have a few small Nalgene bottle around, will have to dig them out and see if they are suitable.

Corey's 2007 FJ Cruiser built for expedtion/overland, & daily driver

I get out on smaller trips that I do not share here, but only to friends and family privately on Facebook. I do not post every trip to here or other forums. I am about out of vacation time from work too until April, and I use it wisely. When I retire in a few years I will have lots more time to...

Let’s see What’s IN your chuck box

Nice, a lot of great stuff. I might have to look into the Stanley flask you mentioned, as I keep my olive oil in its stock glass bottle, but we all know they can leak from the cap. Presently it is in the Alu-Box for dry food, and wrapped inside of a big Ziplock baggy in case it leaks. I like the...

Corey's 2007 FJ Cruiser built for expedtion/overland, & daily driver

You must have missed our week long trip to Mount Rainier this past August then. I would love to go camping right now, but up where we go in the summer time is under several feet of snow. I do not like winter camping, I like camping from May through early October. I did my share of snow/winter...

Update To The Stove Height/Chuckbox In The Rig 12-30-2017 So as seen in the last set of pictures, the stove sat too high on top of the chuckbox, so high I would have to stand on a step stool, and risk falling off. The solution would be to just move the stove down to the chuckboxes door/table...

    Pictures of Camp Kitchens

Last update to the chuckbox (well maybe :D ) As I mentioned earlier, the stove would not fit on the chuckboxes door/table due to the latch sticking up, and the stove bottom hitting it. Used some plastic plugs I had laying around, and they inserted nicely into the rubber feet. The stove can...

Let’s see What’s IN your chuck box

No rain this morning after constant two days of heavy rain, so I got out a bit ago and took these three pics. The first pic is from the bigger compartment, and it has: 1. Two GSI Pinnacle cook sets, a large, and a small all nestled together in the large bag. I had bought the large set at first...

Let’s see What’s IN your chuck box

Pouring down rain for a few days, but I hope to get you a list/pics by Sunday. The chuckbox is in the rig full time now on a Tembo Tusk fridge slide, or I would pull the contents now. Also waiting on a new GSI Sokotu knife set I ordered.

    Pictures of Camp Kitchens

I posted earlier in the thread about my new Trail Kitchens chuckbox, but I have it mounted better now. I had to get longer rails from Jerry at Tembo Tusk to allow the fridge slide to come out further to allow the boxes door/table to drop down and clear the side of the rig. Only drawback to...

    Maggiolina replacement flyscreen

I have a 2008 Maggiolina AirLander tent, and several years ago I had put the left side window awaywrong somehow, and put a 1.5” rip in the mosquito netting. I got a hold of Mike at Autohome, and he sent me out a new window for that side. Turns out my tent you can not replace the canvas or...

Great choice! Have you tried setting it up yet? Once you get the hang of it, it is very easy for one person to do.
