I'm a tall guy and find that Duluth is geared more to generously-proportioned than the athletically built. Their Fire Hose material is very very formidable and the pants wear incredibly well.
The sizing between products is less than consistent.
Another failure.
It runs small and narrow. Doesn't come in a larger or wider size.
Seems really well made and would've been just what I was looking for. Light, flexible. A sneaker-boot with really good traction.
Bummer.
I like/want minimalist ----- ordered the Inov8.....
I don't hike really really fast and use poles when it's over 5 miles. That helps with sharp rocks.
Most important thing to me is fit.
That's why I haven't bought a pair yet....
Frankly, these days I only wear the Keen Durands I own when the weather is sloppy and the hike will have mud. I wear the lighter Keens if it's a mix day and the Topo trail runners the rest of the time.
The trail runners aren't quite protection enough...
14wide is bad enough. 17 would be a life sentence without hope of parole.
It's expensive to be an odd size. My wife and other average-sized people have options like Walmart for clothes. I have to mail-order everything and pay full price.
Big & tall stores cater to a different demographic...
14 in the US, 13 UK, 48 or 48.5 in Europe, depending on who makes it.
I'm looking at these: https://www.inov-8.com/us/trail-running/roclite-325-gtx-mens-trail-running-shoes-black
Could be the perfect overlanding boot. Flexible for the clutch, good traction for mud.
Costco has microfiber towels by the pack or by the pallet.
We bring a couple of them and a couple of old bath towels. Everybody has a couple of old bath towels, the ones that bleach got on and your wife won't let it be and makes you get good ones 'cause God forbid somebody wanders into your...
Been on the Costco hashbrown wagon for years.
Dehydrated onions will do but a real onion makes the hashbrown. And ketchup. Gotta have ketchup. None of that catsup crap....
I love Walmart at 4:30 in the morning. Nightbreed hours; the undead. The things I see in the parking lot ---- people live in the woods off the interstate around Walmart and use their bathrooms at that hour. Truckers and RV people hanging out. Tweakers. And me coming home from the gym and...
And even if REI had them they wouldn't have my size to try on. I'm impressed that they offer both a 48 and a 48.5 ---- but neither in stock....
Global conspiracy against the tall.
Blah blah

I won't need a new Wrangler for at least 6 years. By then the diesel will be getting 40mpg and will tow 10,000...
We had two of the single-stall privy tents; they succumb to sun damage and the poles get soft after 4 years of constant use. But 4 years of Hilldweller camping is pretty darn good....
The Cibie's beam is elegant....
Did you ever see this in action?
http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/led-fog-light-bars-model-9049-3m/
Legal in US & Canada for use on-road, supplementing highbeams of course.
I still maintain my fetish for the Hella 4000 with a 100w bulb and Eurobeam. Good old...
