I have the stock (OEM) front spring hangers and shackles from my 2004 F-350. I don't know if they will work on an E-series without modifications. I am just getting rid of stuff that is taking up space. I also have the crashbar and shocks.
Getting rid of the independant front suspension in favor of a solid axle would be high my priority list if I was building a Chevy/GMC for off road duties. Having had to tow snapped tierod trucks is wearing thin.
When my steering u-joints toasted, the steering was very difficult at some times. It depended on which access the u-joint was pivoting; one still worked, the other seized.
