If the original is badly cavitated you'll want a new one otherwise clean it up and maybe seal whatever cavitation exists with epoxy just to stop it.

    Suspension Upgrade and Lifting

I was going to build a lift kit for the Outlander as well but i'd need to buy another one, I love 2nd Gen GT's.

    Suspension Upgrade and Lifting

There used to be a guy named Sato that made 6" subframe lift kits for the Outlander in Japan but he's since disappeared from the internet. Here's the only picture i could find of one of his Outlanders. Mudjayson makes a kit but i have no idea what it is.

    Suspension Upgrade and Lifting

I go with the best available shock/strut combo at standard height, then build a subframe drop. Maybe 4" then clearance the fenders to make additional room for tires. I imagine you could get 32's shoehorned in there with the right amount of work, wouldn't go too big though because of the lack of...

    Mitsubishi Pajero

We got diesels here but only for 3 years or so, I've only owned 1 USDM diesel and it was pretty awesome. When i get a JDM it will be a 3.5 DOHC V6 SWB Pajero for my daily ZOOM!

    Thoughts on a 95 SR

SR's are awesome, the only negative on those is you need to do engine maintenance on time and with OEM parts. They are higher performance than the others, 15 extra HP doesn't sound like much but it's very noticeable with the variable intake and DOHC. Great machines, I've had a few.

    Gear comparison video (Wheeling!)

Really getting off track here, this discussion is about vehicle gearing and how it greatly improves capability and control offroad. Vehicle doesn't matter, T-case gears are the best upgrade you can do to a 4x4 (they just don't look cool). I'm trying to explain to the Overland crowd how gearing...

    Gear comparison video (Wheeling!)

It's the waterfall in the rock garden on Log Corral Az, it's not a bad climb but it is slick so needing to throttle makes you slide. The incline is enough to make the truck have to work, driver experience definitely could make a difference but wouldn't make it look easy still. It is a really...

    Gear comparison video (Wheeling!)

My power steering is stock, my suspension definitely is not. Suspension travel helps for sure, it would have been a three wheel motion otherwise.

    1991 Montero Build Vlog

I love this! I wanted to do the same for my '91 fix/build but I'm really terrible at video making. Thanks for sharing, PM me if you need anything as far as tech or parts I'm usually pretty OK at that sort of thing.

    Gear comparison video (Wheeling!)

My videos are meh, but thanks. Trying to learn, hopefully I'll get better. Yeah that guy's getting huge! Happened seemingly overnight.

    Gear comparison video (Wheeling!)

Here's when i did this climb the first time a few months ago, you can see it's easy to get on the wrong line. Even when i slid down into the rut i was able to easily adjust mid climb and make it over the top where stock gears would experience TC stall. I run a 4:1 T-case from a Rubicon, It's...

Alignment and stance woes following front end refresh

I was just texting a dude with camber issues today, the UCA shaft is offset and one side may have "OUT" cast into it. Depending on how yours was facing stock you might flip it to get a coarse adjustment before you shim it. If you do have a bent shock tower or accident damage and require a thick...

    Gear comparison video (Wheeling!)

Here's another crawler gear video, same obstacle from two angles, both trucks have front and rear lockers, 35's and about the same amount of lift. Obviously my truck (the blue one) has crawler gears. It really shows how much control you gain with gears and that you break traction less which...

    white ball transfer case lever

There was a guy here selling Delrin balls on eBay a while back, I think they may have just been the Thailand made replacement fulcrum balls. One of my homies here did the Thai ball replacement with good results. It's a little more involved than just replacing the complete shift assembly with an...

New to 4x4 scene, 95 Montero Ls

You're talking about the orange 2 stage jack? Those things are great! It's the only jack i use off-road and I've never had it not provide enough lift even with 37's. Are you lifting the truck from an unsprung (rear axle or LCA) point?
