I really liked the Maxx ---- did better in snow than the Goodyear MTR/K, Cooper S/T, or Cooper STT. Toyo AT2 Xtreme did slightly better in snow than the Maxx ----- but that was on my Power Wagon, not JK, and that could have A LOT to do with it...
I have a JK manual with the LSD in the rear. If it looks really ugly, I roll up to it in 4-low and idle over it. The LSD plus BLDs do just fine.
As has been stated, clutch is all or nothing. I don't like the smell of burnt clutch...
Autotrans is easier. Manual trans is more fun. I luvs me...
When I tested those lamps the Philips bulbs did better than the Osram for some reason. My hypothesis was the focus of the bulb.
The highbeam lit up houses in the next neighborhood. It was remarkable.
They're very tight and leak, Cam.
They have a retaining tab over the threads that prevent the little cap from being tightened all the way; if you don't remove the tab the cooler leaks a very steady drip. If you remove the tab and tighten the cap more it leaks slower.
Trust us. We're all...
Some of the sites are quite large and can hold more than one trailer. I'll start a thread in the SEES area and see where everyone is located. My site and Rory's are smallish but with very good views. But some of the others are huge.
They don't charge for sharing a site unless you have more...
Well, it leaks like a sieve too until you put teflon tape on the threads...
I bought a brass cap and it leaked too. Worse. And sweated even more. I'm guessing that the threads are just ever-so-slightly too small and get even smaller when they're cooled. Could use a softer gasket too.
Thanks...
We'll be at Mile High for Labor Day, John. People go up there just to transmit. QRP people.
I've met a number of Hams in that area, chatted, one guy came to Mt Pisgah with his family and joined us by the fire for some wine.
Not sure if they have open sites but it would be a good place to get...
Yeah, that's it. Just sweats at the drain.
The more humid it is outside, the more it will drip. I put a microfiber rag under it...
It's build like a brick sh!thouse though. So, for the price, I'm content enough.
I'd have an Rtic if they had any sort of decent order fulfillment.
All of the Cherokee County frequencies have PL tones and offsets and are on commercial repeaters (that we can listen on but not transmit). The ones I listed are simplex.
When we're doing a SEES event, we're on 146.55.
Most ExPo related events I've been to have been 146.46. Some also use .56...
Mine leaks if I don't use teflon tape on the threads.
It sweats no matter what too.
I can live with teflon tape. I only use real ice on one trip a year anyhow. I swear by the Brix the rest of the time (dry food...)
It looks pretty good...
I had their AT2s on my first Jeep after hearing good reviews. Not bad on the street but they were miserable in snow and mud. Always made me think twice about General after that.
...wonder if I can win a set...?
I work in an RF software development lab --- I studied on a Thurs/Fri for a couple of hours for the general license and took the test on a Saturday.
The extra is the tough one. That makes my head hurt.
Really all you need for the tickets is: http://ham-cram.com/index.php
Then take the tests a...
Got mine in two days and installed yesterday.
Package arrived heavily damaged (UPS is the worst...) but contents were amply wrapped and in good condition.
Wheels need a bit of assembly, bearings installed and put on axle. No biggie ---- but there was paint overspray in the recess and a few...
I have the same radio, John. I can lend you the dongle and disc to program it ---- or maybe I'll just put my program on a thumb drive for you if you want?
There are a few good repeaters around that are easy to reach, 146.52, 145.000 (SAR K9), 146.55 (SEES), 146.46/146.56/146.66 ---- the ExPo...
It's just one of the optional J8 toppers, I'm assuming.
I've seen it a few times before.
Here's the brochure: http://www.jankel.com/media/images/J8Brochurev44email_444.pdf
