Good looking rig. I agree with everyone else about just swapping out the Lower control arms instead of messing with getting the old stuff apart. I'm pretty close, we're in Tucson.
Great truck! Sounds like u already have a good plan with the mods u listed. I'd say suspension and tires/ wheels first since their the base for everything else.
Thinking I'm going to go with tha xantrex based on what everyone has been saying and the other stuff I've read. They seem to be the kind of quality I want and not too insanly for expensive. The biggest thing is they are a solid legit company, not a Chinese knockoff of some other brand.
Thanks for all the advice. Gives me somewhere to start and it is kind of what I was thinking I was going to use anyway. I'll post up some pics after I get it built.
Well this weekend I'm going to build a drawer system for the back of our 4Runner. I'm basically going to do a large platform on the floor with the drawers mounted to that. What do you guys recommend for affordable material? I was thinking maybe half inch plywood but I really want this to last.
Also Im not sure how long you are planning for your trip but I'd also keep in mind something incase it rains or gets unusually cold. I think heat wise they will be fine with air moving over any kind of kennel but it wouldn't be fun for them if they get soaking wet in rain or get really cold...
I don't think I would be running full load for very long but I want the output incase I need it for somethig later. I'd rather spend the money now and get something that will last and put out everything we need
I haver an Indel B fridge in the back of the 4Runner that I have been having issues with. It works fine when it's cool out but if it starts to warm up a little it kicks off and gives a E1 error, which I read is a voltage error. I ran a cig lights back for the fridge from the aut battery. How...
Yea various things is kind of vague. Mainly keeping things charged, phones, laptops, tools, etc.. We also want the ability to use heated blankets and maybe some kind of electric heater. I'm thinking I'd like to go with atleast a 1000w.
I'm looking for an inverter for my 4Runner. On my last rig i just had a cheap inverter from auto zone and it worked fine most of the time but I'd really like to get a better quality inverter this time and have it last. Any recommendations on brands or wattage rating? We will be running various...
Yea for the price of a fuse I guess it's just worth having 2 fuses in the system and being safe and not having my truck burn to the ground. The fact that I've never seen factory battery cables with fuses is one of the things that got my wondering if I really needed multiple fuses in the same...
I love my 4th gen. I prefer the v8 though. From everything I read the difference in MPG wasn't that much so I'd rather have the extra power, and I definitely feel like my v8 has more than enough power to do anything I want. I think either way though you will be happy. Honestly I would have...
I just put my dual battery in the other week and am using a solenoid isolator like I always have done before. I always put a fuse in before and after the isolator because I read somewhere that I needed to.
I put a fuse before the isolator because I only had one fuse laying around and am...
I have an extra unused IPF900XS light and I was thinking I'd like to mount it as a moveable search light for the passenger to control. At work all our trucks have search lights but their always complete units with the light already built into an assembly.
Has anyone seen a mount that's...
Yea I've seen other people talking about that but I haven't done it yet. I'm going to have to now that I'm adding a bunch of electrical stuff.
I was going to mount to the same point that the frame is connected to the engine block but I didn't see it. Plus if I do the BIG 3 upgrade than I'll...
