I have my garmin now and still have my iPad that I was using. What I've decided to do though is mainly use paper maps, I usually use the benchmark maps, then I'll just use the iPad or garmin to see where I am on the map. It's still easier to plan where your going with a paper map I think, then...
I have tried a few different mounts and arrangements over the years and have found things that I liked and hated about each way I tried.
I'm sure someone else has tried this, but I am mounting an iPad and a GPS unit in my 4Runner and decided to slightly modify some Go Pro mounts. By using a...
Great idea about looking on craigslist, I'll grab one used so I can try it out and see if I like using it. That way if I go back to just using my iPad I'm not really out any money.
WHat did u download the maps through? I have a 64g gen 1 iPad also which was what we were using, and I was using...
I always loved the iPad too because it could do everything in a single unit. The thing that drove me crazy was always downloading the maps and deleting them. If there was a way to get an iPad with an insane amount of memory or compressed files like I think the stand alone GPS units use then...
We have been using an iPad the last few years but I think I want as to try using a dedicated GPS for our main navigation tool. I'd like to try and stick with something that I can import tracks with from garmin basecamp, so basically just something that can use .gpx tracks.
I'd like something...
Like 93cummina said make sure that little piece of plastic is still in between the mount. I remember once I took that piece out because I thought it was just a spacer, had really high SWR readings until I realized, I put that piece back and it worked fine.
Thanks for the advice. I tried to cancel my order through Amazon so hopefully that will go through and if it does I'll look up the 3307s and try and find a rep for my area. I think I'll do one locking on each drawer, looking through that site though I can tell they have a much much better...
I ordered the 9307s through Amazon but they I could only find them selling a single slide on there. I realized though that I am doing 2 drawers and only ordered one set so maybe I'll order a different type of slide for the other 2, that way I'll still have a locking slide on each.
Do you have...
Thanks, after having CB on rigs for years and never once using it cause no one was ever in range I'm looking forward to getting a good HAM setup in the 4Runner.
Yea I filed some down so it would screw all the way down, then there was a little gap so I put an o ring there. Right after putting the new antenna on I picked up a bunch of conversations through repeaters in the area that I wasn't hearing with the stock antenna
Yea I think I'm just going to file a tiny bit off around the base of the antenna, should be a very small amount but then at least I will know it's seating down all the way. I took the passed the test on Sunday the 17th, still nothing on the website. They said 7-10 days so hopefully one of...
If there isn't a more affordable option really for slides then I'll just go with the accursed. I'll look around and see what people have done with the ball bearings. I want these to last so I definitely don't want just a cheap set thats going to break on our next trip
I just passed my technician at the expo this year. I am looking into which rig radio I want to get but that will take a little while. I ordered one of the UV-5r handheld Chinese ones, just for a cheap one to mess with till then. I ordered the NA 771 antenna with it (I actually thought I had...
Got the net up before we drove up to the expo. Fits great and everything seems like it's really good quality. I did have to get some small carabiners because I couldn't get it tight enough with the connections that came with it
