I'm going to build a drawer system for the back of my 4Runner probably this week and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for slides. I was going to just go with a regular cheap set from Home Depot or something but I think they just wouldn't last long and I'd end up regretting it. I...
I just passed my tech and ordered one of these till I can get a better setup for my 4Runner. Seems like a good thing to start with since people say they work well and they are affordable.
I know I can take them locally but it's easier for me to plan just doing it at the expo every year. Unless I get excited and don't want to wait then I'll take it locally lol.
Thanks, I'm excited to get started once whatever they have to process goes through. I'll have to start getting some gear. My plan is to test higher each year at the expo, so next year I'll study and test for general.
Yea the technician test was no problem. I just used the HamStudy.org flashcards then took a few practice tests on AA9PW's website. Wasn't a hard test but still glad I was able to study so I didn't worry about it, those 2 sources gave me a lot of good info. Thanks for the help guys, now the...
Ok thanks, do u know if that HamStudy.org pulls from the same bank of questions or just similar questions? I'm glad they let you
know right away how you did.
So far I've been reading through the material on the ARRL site, then going through the flash cards on HamStudy.org. I only have till the expo to study so I basically just decided to stick with these 2 things. I really like how the HamStudy.org seems to recognize the material that you know well...
Ok I'll look at the HamStudy.org. I tried to find the book "now your talking" that everyone recomended but apparently they don't make it anymore so it said to use the online guide at ARRL.org. I'll probably ready through both, more info can't hurt.
I looked at HamStudy.org and it looks like a...
Glad to hear people have good experience with them. Everything is still going to be properly secured in the back so we shouldn't need the net but it's kind of a back up incase something comes loose and moves forward.
We ordered it so once we get it and I install it I'll let u guys know how it...
We have been talking about buying of building a cargo barrier for years but never got around to actually doing it. Last month our son was born so we need to get something. We're ordering the raingler full barrier kit for our 4th gen 4Runner.
Does anyone have experience with these or have...
Yea I agree, I wish mine never came with the sunroof. I never really used it before I got the roof rack now it's useless and just loud. After I put some foam in there though that should help, and I may mount some switches or something in that interior door because it's easy to get to the back...
My 4Runner came with a sunroof, but now that I have the roof rack it's useless and just creates a ton of wind noise when we're on the freeway. I've seen some racks that kind of maintain visibility through the sunroof but the ARB that I have has a big plate of steel directly above the sunroof...
So I have a 2004 4Runner for our expo rig but it's not my DD. I have a 2010 Carolla that I drive around as my DD but I try and drive the 4Runner every now and then to keep everything moving. I don't want to drive it too much because the mileage is already high so I'd like to keep from racking...
Yea saving as much usable space as possible was a big concern for me. I'm not too worried about the price difference because I'm hoping to get them built right and hopefully last us a long time.
Also already having the experience working with metal will make the design and construction go...
I'm about to build a drawer set up for the back of my 4Runner. Im plannin on just building a faily basic box with 2 drawers but I'm torn between making the drawers out of wood or aluminum. I'm comfortable working with metal because that's what I've always built my projects out of in the past...
