1st generation short bed Toyota 4x4 pickup with a newer, fuel injected engine and bucket seats. Small lift, if any, 33" tires max. SOA FJ55 with a Toyota diesel, 3FE or FZ 6 cylinder.

I like everything about the way it looks, including seats. New paint is a better color than green, IMO. No idea what it's worth, but no doubt more than I could afford.:)

^Great advice. Idler arm is somewhat of a weak link, so check that it's either been replaced or in good shape. A manual hub upgrade on the front axle would also be a nice find for a 4x4. So, the basic check for proper 4x4 function is advisable.

X2. Your best value in a truck-cost, dependability, ease of service, etc. is using the gem that you currently own. Keep things simple, keep this truck and the yearning for something new will eventually pass.

Not a 2.7 in that truck. If it's a nice example, my suggestion is to sell it to someone who would appreciate it as is- a guy like me-and buy a truck already built up for a tough trail like the Rubicon. Think Suzuki Samurai!

Too many cons from my perspective for the FJ40 as a highway traveler for significant miles. The combination of a gas guzzling engine and a small fuel tank translates into frequent and expensive trips to the petro station, plus perhaps the worst range per tankful of any vehicle produced since...

Sure it was a mountain goat that you hit near Muncho lake? That would be very uncommon of them to be near a highway. More likely to see sheep. So, did they look like this?

How many miles? Have the ball joints and steering rack been replaced? I'd make sure they're in great shape before doing a lift.
