Why do you need ______ ???
Insert anything in the space above.
Why do you need a big screen tv, big gas guzzling truck, 2200SQ FT house, sports car, steak dinner, etc....etc....
It's not a matter of "need".... and whats wrong with having massive firepower, the criminals sure do.
GREAT TIRE !!
After using BFG ATs, and having a HORRIBLE experience with the goodyear wrangler silent armors I bought the Hankooks.
Discount tire made things right concerning the goodyears and the Hankooks have performed better than any other AT tire I have ever had.
The GM IFS is every bit as capable as any of the Toyota IFS setups that so many use here and rave about. They are not rock crawlers but mine has gone many places where others said it wouldn't without breaking.
It's more about driving style and ability than anything else. I have a friend who...
The best IFS stuff for GM is made by Cognito motorsports.
Get the steering upgrade parts they sell and drive happy.
As far as the IFS in general, DO NOT let people tell you it's not capable off road. It's not for rock crawlin or other extreme off road use but for 90% of what most EXPO types do...
Last month I replaced the tires on my Chevy 2500HD.
It had michelins on it when I bought it and they were great tires except they were not so good off road. After much research I decided on Hankook Dynapro RF10s. Problem was, when I blew a tire recently they were back ordered in my size.
I...
Cognito makes great stuff for GM trucks and if you crank your torsion bars it's the best way to do it but there are drawbacks.
It will make your front suspension stiffer and put added strain on your ball joints and steering components.
Oh I have no problem with anyone wanting one, it's been on my "to buy" list for some time but ammo prices keep scaring me away.
I was only commenting on the LEO need for it when they are the first to ask us peasants why we need one.
Sort of a role reversal thing.:sombrero:
But...but.....you can't do that with a Chevy....IT HAS IFS !!!!! :Wow1:
Nice truck and it's good to see someone using it somewhere other than the mall.:sombrero:
I'm a fan of Keens and recently bought a pair of their Oregon hiking boots.
Mainly because I liked the Keen Targee shoes I had and these are based on those made into a hiking boot. That and they fit GREAT !!
However, they have the Keen dry stuff which is Keens version of Gore Tex and my feet...
I read several sites and tried to read snopes before posting but I can't get that site at work..
Where did your info come from ?
If it's not correct then I retract the statement.
When discussions like this come up I am often reminded of this quote from Sigmund freud....
“A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity”
For boots I have Red Wings and Danner.
For hiking boots nothing has been better than my Keens. Keens are my everyday shoes and boots.
For the kids, we have always found Merrells on sale somewhere and they hold up well and are priced right.
So what you're saying is ford screwed up International's engines and now the same people who did that are making their own engine without the help of the people who made the good engines in the first place.
hmmmmmm, ok..........
Which totally defeats the purpose of having a smaller truck.
Some people just don't want a full size truck.
I hear customers complain all the time the Toyota doesn't offer a small truck anymore.
I have become a HUGE fan of KEEN shoes and boots.
They fit my feet like they were made for me, are comfortable and are very durable
