Give a search through the forums when you have time. A bunch of folks have "deleted" the torsion bar.
I'm in the process of deleting mine.
See this thread: Flippac torsion delete modification for how I'm going about it (I just copied other folks on here).
There are other ways to go about the...
Nice!
Keep an eye out for WentWindrock, a Nissan get together over at Windrock park in the fall. It used to be just xterra's but now all Nissan. I drove down last year & had a great time, hope to head back this year unless I move out west...
I bought a pair of the Treds from Summit. Placed my order on thursday & they arrived Saturday. Very suprised at that as it was free shipping, so I figured it'd be about a week. Neat!
Looks as though they only have the bright green ones left now. I'm thinking I might paint mine (Krylon fusion...
--->Fly is SOLD!<---
sold 5/20/15, thanks!
For sale-$325 shipped CONUS.
(No longer a feeler, got my new fly...)
A Slo-Sails rainfly for a Flippac.
Has 2 windows, and the standard 4 vents.
Has all of the buckles for straps, but is missing several of the webbing straps (standard ?1" webbing)...
I just emailed the seller suggesting that they post up some pictures, or alternatively sent me some so I could post them up here.
In full disclosure I told the seller I'm not in the market, just suggesting how they may better sell there's.
-And shoot if I was in the market that would...
Could also make one from Reflectix. I did for my dometic and works very well (reduced cycle time->lower power draw->better temp stabilization).
Doesn't look the best, so I may look into wrapping the outside of the Reflectix with some fabric I already have. I was thinking to keep it simple and...
Don't know if these are options for your trucks: airbags or road master active suspension (RAS).
I've firestone bags on my Titan, but am going to give RAS a try shortly, however my load is also much lower. I figure my fully loaded weight (with flippac) at around 600lbs. Adding in my armor...
These can make excellent overland rigs, with tons of potential. Exploring NH has one (not sure on the year), and I "think" he's putting a pop-up roof in it.
Depending on the sellers price point, and given he lists an upgraded front axle plus front & rear armor, this could be a great project for...
Interesting. Wouldn't work for my truck, my beds too short to sleep length wise unless they did an overhang. I have a 5.5' bed. With my FP and how it is a bit wider than the bed, I can sleep width wise with the top down if I ever needed to.
It would be very difficult to make the weight savings...
Wrong size for me, GLWS!
-on a side note, shop REI if you can in the future. Very liberal return policy, provided they aren't all muddied up. Also you might give some inserts a try for shoes. The kind that you heat up in the oven then mold to your foot worked wonders for me...
I'd imagine an after market one should work fine.
The real question I suppose is would you have to go with an aftermarket head unit as well? I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine you should be able to simply re-wire the existing antennae to an aftermarket unit in a new location...
-No issues...
I'm hoping that over the next decade the price will come down significantly on lithium bulk batteries. Like photovoltaics & LEDs have come way down in price over the last ten years.
I'm thinking that the batteries will come down in price, especially given that there is more of a future need...
