My only suggestion is to try and tie the fenders and tubes to the rear bumper/skid area. That is the area on a tear drop that takes the greatest beating on a serious off road trail. The more support it has the stronger the door area becomes.
You are doing some fantastic work. Counter height is always a problem with a tear drop it seems. Especially if you want to use a large fridge. Keep up the great work, impressive job.
You are totally destroying the idea behind the torsion axle. Independent suspension, straight up and down action, no twisting, very little bounce if the right weight is used. I honestly can not see any advantage to it, but many disadvantages, some listed already.
It would be unique though.
It looks like you may have slightly overloaded it, by a couple thousand pounds there. It won't last long with that type of load no matter what you do with the axle.
Nice work, but the DAECO 55 gallon drum gives me some concern for your neighbors safety. lol
I still think you have over sprung the axle. These things can be extremely harsh. If it is, lower the air pressure as far as you can when pulling empty or with a light load.
this is not a military trailer. It is a power provider for communications. They have been around a long time. Just about as long as the stronger solar panels. I have built quite a few of them. We use the same wind generator on our solar powered internet sites. No place to sleep, but you...
Is it a bolt system, mine normally come with a perch that I weld to the frame and then bolt to the perch. Looks like the perch gives you a good amount of clearance. 45 degree?
When is your dead line for purchase. I maybe selling my personal trailer this summer. It will fit with in your budget, but maybe not the size limitations. Will be hard to find one with an AC on top to fit is my guess.
I think you will be alright, a little wider than I like, but I try to take mine everywhere.
Figure the water, the weight of the kitchen, try to center the water over the axle and below the floor, with some type of protection. If you plan to have a spare on the front, consider the battery at...
The closest I have ever came to a bear problem, was almost hitting a cub with my mountain bike. Momma ran by, then a cuband and then another on a night ride. About two weeks later I nearly ran into a mountain lion. No longer ride alone in those areas for some reason. Air horn like Martyn...
I would go 120 wall for the main frame and use the 063 for supports cross members and even uprights if tied together. I agree it is just too light for the main frame.
Check the floor, be sure that if there are cracks, and it is in plywood, you seal it. I totally agree with Mark on the smell part. Parked in the hot sun for a few days, things get pretty ripe. But if you can get it and it does not smell, the options are endless. These things were not cheap...
Almost every toy hauler you see, has stopped putting windows, opening in the front. Regular RV trailers are moving away it seems, off road with the twisting, banging and all make it very easy for the front to develop leaks.
I have one on my trailer, due to the window tinter cutting the...
Don't bend the crane!!! Work will be pi$$ed. Looks like you have an unusual find on your hands. Keep us in the loop, these things are always interesting.
Aero, same deal, have had it setting in the trailer for a month or so. Never have needed, but felt it might be an option down the road. Not a huge box or anything to carry around. Be prepared when you drag a trailer, not only for yourself, but it seems everyone thinks you have the kitchen...
Too impressed with the pictures to read the post. Great news on the house, and the garage, I built mine two years ago. Heaven on earth to have all that room. Maybe next year, this will be my 8th Summit, have never missed one. Keep that young lady on the bike, good for you and her!!!
