I am removing the front window from mine. It seems to me, at speed and in rain, a vibration starts and allows it to force the water under the rubber lip. I have tried to seal it numerous ways. One trip it works fine the next it leaks. Never know what is going to happen. It seems most 5th...
I would be concerned about it bending or snapping without a sleeve also. 2000 pounds is about right for a tear drop, depending on water tank size. Have you located the water tank, or did I miss that.
I have seen some real fights with them on less than level ground. At the expo two years ago, on a very slight hill, it took three people over an hour to get one hooked up. Tongue heavy was the real problem, but it is much tougher than the lock and roll. I have been very fortunate with the...
My guess is if you ever go over what it will do, you have a lot more to worry about than the coupler!!!!!
As for being stolen, these couplers and the lock and roll make it a lot harder to do. Most do not have them and have no idea what they are.
I have a brand new Max Coupler thanks to Gabe...
I truly have no answer for you, but I would call Rich at Ronco plastic tanks. He runs the shipping department and is quite knowledgeable about the process is my guess, a real nice guy. Tell him your are an Oklahoma Sooner fan the sky is the limit. Just teasing on that, but he is a big sooner...
I set mine up with a 110 inlet that goes to the main distribution bank, with breakers and fuses. I also use that to charge my batteries via a Morningstar Digital 15 amp controller. Honda and Yamaha are supposed to be full sign wave inverters, should not develop that much voltage. I have never...
In this group, we tend to overdo everything. The 7 pin is all you need to charge your batteries, run the trailer. Every trailer on the market, other than this industry uses the standard 7 pin connection. NO need for heavier wiring. Doubtful you could get enough draw to warrant them. I...
You have the battery power to make it work I think. I just hate camping in the sun if I can find some great shady area. Different strokes for different folks. Are you going to bring it to the FJ Summit in Ouray. Would love to see it finished!!!!!
Plastic bicycle bottle, mounted to the wall. Has worked for over 15 years with no problems.
wife is not into it, but it has happened. Being older, near 70 we are very careful with the ladder. She hates the roof top tent, so have no used that trailer in years. Need to sell it.
We have a...
I think it will. Dexter actually compensates for the customer overloading the trailer. It would be almost impossible to get that much weight in it on a camping run. That is a lot of weight, it would have very little sag and not enough weight to move the trailing arms. This is where most...
Great ideas at work here. Having a useable utility trailer is a big dividend. My only concern on this trailer is the 3500 pound torsion axle. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but it appears to be terribly over sprung. I can not imagine that trailer weighing anywhere near that as a camping...
Some very nice work, the rack looks great. Considerations. Doubtful it can be deployed attached to the FJ. That back door creates lots of problems for us. When deployed and detached, could be a real head knocker. Also with a permanent solar panel, you always have to park in the sun to use...
It is kinda strange. Sometimes you can run all of them, sometimes you can't. Coleman has a three unit tree. Mine will work one day, the next not a chance. No idea why not other than the possible need of the separate regulator as Verdasardog says. I have not had the problem with my tear drop...
Glad to see you are still alive!!!! Going to have that winter tan you have been wanting. Being there that long, you must be having a good time. How is my dog?
YOu have dual batteries in the truck, a trailer battery, and you are adding tongue box for another battery. that is a lot of weight. I guess I am just not familiar with arcpac. I thought initially it was for welding.
In honesty I have never seen a 12 volt system overheat. Possibly not...
Oh my gawd it has dirt on it!!!!!! Never be the same.
Glad you got to play with it, have been so busy the last few months, I figured you had worn it out and were starting on another one!!!! Well maybe not. Hope to fix mine, I finally tore a hole in my water tank. Have no idea how or...
Mr. simple here. Why not a direct feed from the tow vehicle to a 12 volt plug and a USB adapter that plugs in. No heat worries, run your hot wire to distribution point. Seems like a lot of things to go wrong bouncing all over the trail.
