MB truck owners in North America - is it worth it?

I love the Mercedes trucks. But owning one in North America is not straight forward. I imported a 2001 Sprinter from Germany into Canada and even though the sprinter brand is well established here, the European model is hugely different. Different enough that mechanics that are familiar with...

Why the big price difference between flatbed and slide-in??

in 2022 we experimented with a similar design like this . Turns out the additional weight and complexity during assembly made it unattractive for us to take it any further.

    CombiBoil water heater from Autoterm/Tigerexped

100% . The combiboil will be our main hot water source. Will have one diesel heater dedicated for the boiler and interior. A second diesel heater will be for redundancy and higher heat output if needed (we are planning to use this truck at the ski hill a lot)...

    CombiBoil water heater from Autoterm/Tigerexped

Hello Forum members! If doesn't happen often that I'm posting in Expedition Portal about components we carry. The following product deserves all mentioning possible! Let me explain: Anyone that has ever outfitted their own camper/trailer/ expo truck knows how difficult it is to source and...

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

We just got our spring mounted subframe installed on a GMC topkick. The amount of frame flex these trucks have is impressive! Even the drivers cab is 3 point mounted. Can’t imagine the damage a subpar subframe could cause to a habitat.

    New project ! 2006 GMC 5500 4x4 Top Kick

Even though she looks like a moving truck at the moment, give it a couple more days till the first windows go in and it will be much better :-)

    New project ! 2006 GMC 5500 4x4 Top Kick

Yep. Fixed at the front, springs going back. The interesting part is the frame flexing over the full length of the truck all the way to the engine. The cab is isolated from that through a three point mount. Hence the 2”-3” flex visible at the front end of the subframe. It shouldn’t be a big...

On shorepowwer it will be great. On the eco flow battery alone it will maybe last for a day.

I'm going to experiment with the ecoflow wave 2 in our new personal camper. It's fairly easy to integrade it with the Ecoflow 48V electrical system. Main heat source will be 2 Autoterm 2D. 2 x diesel heater for redundancy.

You are 100% correct. Manufacturing a custom order involves many hours in the office generating production drawings, consultations with the purchaser and suppliers. This ads up extremely fast . We learned this the hard way and a couple of years ago started offering “pre designed” camper Shells...
