:lurk: I love this thread. It's an epic build-thread if I ever saw one.
Congrats to the Hackney's on a well laid out plan and great documentation so we can all enjoy the outcome. Sounds like you still have some things to finish, but my guess is not much. I can't wait to see the reports from...
Thanks KC!
Yes, the food on this trip was quite good. That was so fun when we ate outside at High Mtn Pies. I couldn't believe the size of that calzone that GT had. Remember the grumpy locals who were grumbling about us taking "their" table? :p
YEAH McVick!! :clapsmile :luxhello: :jumping:
I just added you to my secret little list (aka cheat sheet) that I carry with me on all of my trips. So welcome to the list.
I just added a trip gallery to bajataco.com. A lot of the photos you may have already seen, but there are some new ones in there too, along with commentary/captions.
I just picked up a new watch that I am really enjoying so I thought I would start a watch thread. I have used the venerable Casio digital calculator watch for what I would estimate to be about 15 years now. I am often doing math and am not so fast at doing it in my head like Vince or Uwe :p I am...
Excellent question. I don't think any of us really know the answer as to when the components will fail. And no doubt there are a lot of variables that will play into the answer, whatever it may be. I can say that I think the 97-04 Tacoma chassis/components are quite robust and there have been a...
I think the issue for the savethepeak people is not a question of if the land is developed for homes, but if the land ends up with a noisy, stinky train hub on it. Obviously, they (savethepeak) stand to lose a lot of value on their properties if the switching yard goes in. Just read the "contact...
Thanks guys :)
KC, the camera is a Canon EOS 10D with Tamron 28-300mm F/3.5-6.3 and Sigma EX 17-35mm F/2.8-4 lenses. I was also using my little Canon A85.
Here is another shot I meant to post - the Viking man... this is a great shot of him by the fire.
Some more...
1. Old hinge at the Burgess mining cabin
2. "self portrait" at the Burgess mining cabin, with Heather in the shot too. It was cool to see that Chuck did this shot too, without either of us seeing the other do it.
3. Robb n' Cat
4. KC climbing the trail
5. Mike Patterson telling us...
I did get a shot of Chuck when he had slid off of the roadbed. (jerky is so worth it!) I also have some other pics of people...
1. Chuck's slide
2. Amy n' Uwe atop the hill behind Barker ranch
3. Robb and his famous hat
4. Heather n' BX chatting
5. Randy n' Linda on the racetrack
6. Srisuda...
Oh man, I have really enjoyed looking at everyones photos. Awesome! It is a way to keep enjoying the trip, long after it is over. Thanks to all of you for posting those up. I love seeing through others eyes, if just for a moment. KC, thanks for the compliments :-) I didn't get a pic of a sign at...
Hi Doug, I have been super busy so not able to drop in here for awhile. But I saw some of your alpha testing pics and it is looking awesome! Good luck with your sessions next week (don't let Scott actually drive it - unless you want to see what it looks like on 3 wheels... LOL). Sorry I won't be...
Coilovers will stand the weight of a winch bumper, but they need to have a proper spring to do so. Generally speaking for the Tacoma/4Runner, a 650# or 675# spring will work well. Also, the longer the spring, the less pre-load is required to achieve the same "lift". Regardless, if the only thing...
