    Toyota Losing it's Mojo?

I’ve had 5 Toyotas with zero or only minor issues. Never been left stranded by one, That said I’m VERY happy I avoided the new model woes and went for a new ’21 Tundra for my pop-up Ovrlnd camper. I would likely avoid a new Toyota now and for a few years, if I was looking, which fortunately...

    Anderson connectors: Crimp vs solder?

This ⬆️ The Andersons are really hard to get right without their specific tool. You can do it, but the failure rate is high as you found out. Somehow I ended up with an extra of the Powerwerx Anderson crimpers, literally NIB, which work perfectly. I’ve crimped a bunch of Anderson plugs...

    Learn to Sail?

Lot’s of sailers here with good experience. However, it seems like your desire to learn and presumably have fun is falling behind. FWIW, I grew up sailing in the Keys on 14 and 16’ Hobie Cats. I have also crewed a bit on larger boats and sailed the Catalina day sailers in FL as well as some...

Four Wheel Camper Electrical Basics and Switching to Lithium!

Quite true. The NL DC pack has 50amp Anderson plugs for input and output and I use 50 amp plugs everywhere in my charging and output to the camper switchbox with the exception of the smaller 15/30/45 amp plug for direct wiring into the battery (with inline fuse and bypassing all of NL’s...

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

Jay, true, but that’s only 537.778°C and our lows here in Baja Flag have now reached 995°F, so we have that going for us!😖😁. And what’s this ”freezing”thing you mentioned …🤔? That said, still think they’d be useful on the rear doors for dust control, so I’ll probably order some in the near future

    Best road signs

I’ve heard tales of the famous car eating cows of Australia, but this is the first evidence I’ve ever seen of them . . . .

    Best road signs

This was from maybe 35 or 40 years ago. Found it on a hike up to the top of a CO thirteener. Full disclosure — it’s not my get and I think this was already posted, but I came across it and it’s so great, that here it is again! Not exactly a road sign, but in my defense it was next to a...

Tundra Suspension: Long travel pros and cons? Share your setups!

Also,PS . . . I wish I had the CDEV compression adjusters. That on the fly would be great in areas where you alternate with cross camber stuff where having the shocks hard really reduces the head toss from the side to side alternation. I do love the compression adjusters, it’s just a PITA to...

Tundra Suspension: Long travel pros and cons? Share your setups!

Well, I have an opinion, but no experience with having LT. Had a very well built Tacoma with the classic ICON mid travel suspension that went stupid places just fine heavily loaded. My current 21 Tundra with a camper likewise. You can see the basics of the build in my signature. The 2.5 resi...

I like these! Do they snap pretty tightly and do you think they’ll stay in place at highway speeds?

    Victory 4x4 Bumpers?

I have looked at/researched these several times. They sell a fair amount for Tundras and Tacomas. I’d suggest searching for real world experiences from those that have them on higher volume forums like Tundras.com, Tacomaworld, etc.

So how does that interesting bed platform work? Does it slide together, or just for ventilation, or what?

Advice on buying FWC Hawk for short short bed

Plenty of people do this. I have no first hand knowledge, but have seen many examples, often with some extended support (eg, tailgate not removed or sheet of 3/4 plywood) and/or rear susp modifications. I would check over on Wander the West where you’ll see what others have done and how it...

    Connectors for interior systems

+1 on the small anderson plugs. You DO need a specific crimp tool for them. Great source: www.powerwerx.com

    Interior wall/ceiling covering

I have used both VHB and lath screws, mostly VHB, but some screws in corners. The lath screws work well, just be gentle as two agressive screwing will crush the Coroplast and you’ll see dents or lines. I typically used a drill driver with the torque set very low. VHB works very well, but...

    Interior wall/ceiling covering

I’m with Ozarker on this. I finished my Ovrlnd walls with Coroplast over 1/4’“ double sided reflective closed cell foam over 3 years ago. It’s holding up fantastic. It weighs little, and is very tough (that’s why the Post Office uses it for their mail bins), cheap, and easy to work with...

Scheel Mann Vario XL seats in the Equipt 200 Series Land Cruiser

Sadly, that’s a 5 year old video and Metal Tech no longer seems to sell the emulation modules, that I can find. Around the time of the video I did a full on search to find the modules and never could. I could find them for other cars, particuarly sports cars, but everyone seemed to quit...
