If you haven’t worked it out yet, the URL is for external photo hosting sites. Much simpler is just copy and pasting a Jpeg or Png file into your reply, just like text. But please don't post big, multi-megabyte files. They take forever to load. You can easily downsize them. I find 600 to 1000 kb...
Beyond the good comments already given here, I’d suggest that you think about what kind of things you want to power. Initially, I was swayed a bit by all the talk about inverters and put in a small Victron 500 watt inverter, which I fairly quickly took out as the weight wasn’t needed and I...
Congrats and welcome to the cult!
We’ve been in really bad winds, like 35-40 gusts and the canvas still resists flapping. Jay builds ‘em tight.
Let us see how you do your build out over time.
Belated welcome to AZ!
And thats not just a lizard — it’s a Gila Monster. You were lucky to see one, they are not that commonly spotted. I’ve been here 37 years and only seen 3 and I get out in the desert a lot.
Very nice rig! Where did you source the beige fabric bins w/ the pockets on the side? Also as a big guy, I’m curious about how much space is behind the seats in the cab and how far back the seats can go?
GLWS!
In addition to all the other things truck beds in general are far more open to air leaks than an SUV with all the seals, etc. I know my ’09 Tacoma and now my ’21 Tundra beds had more open voids and sneaky places for air/dust/CO access that you could imagine. DK about the new Tundras, but if...
I did a write up on this in the Ovrlnd thread, which I’m quoting here. I need to add that the truck cab cover from Covercraft (which is the parent of Adco) lasted about three years then the sun killed it and it started to shred. Maybe in a place that’s not Phoenix it would last longer?
That...
Hey @PirateMcGee — I see you have a chin fairing on your cabover. Have you noticed much impact from it? Any MPG improvements? I’ve been thinking on one, but because it’s Phoenix and I cant garage my rig I have a camper cover that means I’d have to make the fairing easily removable/installable...
That’s a great price! Its the first overseas seller I’ve seen that’s quoting US$. Let us know how the shipping went and cost to ship (I assume from the UK?) if you don’t mind. Ive been looking for some ducting which is hard to find in the US in the correct size, so that vendor may be my...
Here’s a few. However, as far as I know, currently Truma will not sell directly to consumers in the US. Appartently, they fear our litigiousness or something. At least that was the story in Feb 2023 when I got this one. At the time you could only buy through dealers. I got mine from AT...
Used to love doing that trail. The trees sure have taken a beating since my last hike which was well over 10 years ago. Is the tower still manned? We were able to go up an visit with the watcher and see the inside of the tower at one point. Great pictures — thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Very nice rig at a fair price!
If you don’t mind a question from a non buyer — I have a very similar cabinet and fridge (ARB50) set up on the Pside of my Tundra. I’m thinking of getting a bigger fridge and NL makes a 65L that fits the same foot print. I sort of hate the idea that to have it...
That looks to be a great learning boat and its hard to beat the price plus getting a winter project! I like that you’ve got both a main and a jib sail. Learning with both will translate well to a bigger boat if you want one later.
