There are rv washer dryers. They are aimed at rvs that spend their time plugged in to shore power.
Forget the dryer, hang dry.
We have a Bosch apartment washer that is 19" wide and draws 10 amps when on the spin cycle, 2-0 amps through the rest of the cycle. It gets used every week.
The deal on Mercedes truck parts: North America probably is the worst place to source MB truck parts, North America also has the best courier/delivery in the world. Parts import is fast and simple. Worst case scenario is probably a week delivery time from Europe.
There are a number of shops in...
I want to hear if the fridge was not latched properly or if a drawer is not closed. Once have been on the road a while you get everything in its place so that it is relatively quiet.
Run a return ground wire on every DC circuit (to battery negative busbar), this will ensure a good ground and make future trouble shooting easier . There is no reason to ground the DC circuits to the chassis.
The inverter will require a chassis ground, you should get the advice of a qualified...
Where is the shunt for the battery monitor?
I would advise a dedicated ground wire for every circuit, do not use chassis ground for the DC.
The Victron inverter installation manual should have all the grounding details.
We are 11'6'' . The only places it has been an issue; White Rim, Road to the Sun, and a few Mexican town centers that can be easily avoided. We have friends with similar height vehicles that would not go down the trails we did, but that is a pin striping issue not access.
I believe there is also a 7 speed that will fit.
My truck was custom ordered as a motorhome with many rare goodies. I never understood the choice of the 5 speed. There may be other factors such as dependability or ease of service? I curse the 5 speed every time I am stuck between 3rd and fourth...
315 80 22.5
They are a great highway tire and we have survived mud and sand, however I would go to a 365 minimum 22.5. 20" are to hard to source worldwide.
Looks like a great rig. I have met many multiple self builders, generally they say it takes 3 builds to get it right! I look forward to more pics and details.
I need electrical diagrams for our 1993 MB917
Particularly the windshield wiper circuit and the air conditioning circuit
I believe the 917,1017 all the way to the 1524 will all be the same.
Motor homes, truck campers, Expo trucks are exempt from weigh stations.
Bus or truck refers to commercial bus or truck, they must stop.
A Prevost motorhome at 54500 lbs is not required to stop.
Money spent getting the chassis you want is well worth it. Modifying the vehicle is very expensive and in North America almost every part you will need will be shipped from Europe. I would wait for a 917/1017 etc. 4x4. Getting a chassis that is already in North America is a huge bonus but not...
Oxygen barrier protects coolant and helps prevent corrosion in ferrous metals in closed system.
Using an open system, using drinking water in the heating loop adds a risk of bacterial contamination.
Our tubing is orange PEX inside ( the one with an Oxygen barrier) and 3/4" rad hose under the truck. I think having a joint flex enough to open a hatch is too much.
You look to be very short on interior storage. All I see is the tall cabinet for clothes, where is your food going? refrigerator? Do you have a spot for shoes? You will need a sliding dinette table if you want to get in or out from the kitchen side.
