    Water purification, LED UV, specifics....

I don’t have one, but can tell you that Seagull is a very respected brand/product in the marine world. They own/produce the First Need line of backpacking filters which I did use years ago and filtered some truly awful water with. Trusted them completely — never got sick. At the time, the...

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

Here you go. IIRC I had to cut it down a bit to fit well. It really just holds the top and bottom, but the filter material is stiff enough for a good seal if its cut out well and just slightly oversized. I just looked at my filter a couple weeks ago and it was pretty filthy after a year since...

DIY Fridge slide build - 1/16" aluminum angle iron strong enough?

I have a DFG Offroad slide with the same fridge on it and I pretty sure it’s 1/16 1 1/4 x 1 1/2 or something close. You could see how their‘s are structured on the web site. It’s quite strong, but light — 15 lb IIRC.

Pivot Arm? Articulation for Solar Panel

8020 has several different types of pivots that can articulate in different planes depending on how you set them up to work with the extrusions. not too expensive. I’m using several on my camper for different purposes, but not solar panels.

How to trickle charge starter battery from house battery set up?

I’m not the expert you need for the details, but in short, LifePo batteries have less resistance and take a charge faster. They can damage FLA batteries including AGMs if directly connected.

How to trickle charge starter battery from house battery set up?

Makes sense if both house and crank are the same chemistry. The OP has LifePo house and FLA crank which isn’t a good mix directly connected.

OVRLND CAMPERS ONLY : Post your OVRLND Camper build here or a link to your build thread to inspire others!

My camper has held up incredibly well over the nearly 2.5 years and lots of use that I've had it, but the Arizona sun (and elsewhere) is brutal over time. The only thing I've noticed so far is a bit of cracking of the gaskets around the window/door latches, no leakage though. Partly my fault...

Came across this a couple days ago. Seems relevant.

    Heating Options

Yeah, it’s a pain. They’re leery of US liability laws as I understand it. Gotta get it through a dealer and installed. Lots of RV places around here are dealers. Truma also has mobile technicians at least in the West, but DK if they do installs. Try RV dealers near you or bigger offroad or van...

    Light for Vehicle Repairs

Another vote for these. I love mine. Infinite uses and the magnetic butt really holds it well. Plus, the articulating light bar means you can get precise illumination any where you want.

    Heating Options

Granted, I am in a much smaller pop-up camper, but FWIW I tried one of the Wave catalytic heaters. They suck. Condensation and combustion byproducts are not the way to go in a camper. I didn’t really have a place to put a Propex propane heater, but I eventually ended up, putting in a Truma...

    Traction Board Recommendations

+ 1 on both the MaxTrax and the on board air. I carried a CO2 tank in my old rig, but went with an under hood compressor for the current rig and it’s been great. Here’s a plug also for the grating. I carried a set of two for years (at 18 lbs each!) on my Tacoma. They got me and...

Pop up/wedge camper tailgate delete option

The other consideration, and it’s totally down to personal preference and how you camp, is the usefulness of the tail gate real estate. My wife and I have talked about full barn doors, but we have a rear awning and find that we really use the tailgate almost like a mini deck to hang out on a...

ARB threaded power outlet- what kind of plug and where to get another one?

I don’t know for a fact what the fridge DC power cord guage is but mine looks relatively thin. Might need to check that. That cord/outlet may be a weak link?

Another Question for Chris: Shocks for Washboard

Air down. The best shocks cant help nearly as much if you’re at high street PSI.

    Pressurize a camper

The bottom of this post describes my PPV and sourcing. A lot of Ovrlnd camper owners are now using this and the builder is offering as an option. Very effective and easy to install. Not expensive.

Pop up/wedge camper tailgate delete option

This is very good. You’ll likely need two. Have to get the sides too. You also need to seal the bottom of the gate were it meets (almost) the floor of the bed. There are also over 30 (!) holes under the bed rail caps and corners of the bed rail at the top, and in a few other places. . If...

Pop up/wedge camper tailgate delete option

FWIW you dont need to eliminate your tailgate to avoid dust intrusion in a Tundra. What you do need is: - a positive pressure vent - obsessive sealing of the many hidden voids in the bed - obsessive sealing of tailgate with a good tailgate seal kit including covering over the large bottom gap...

How to trickle charge starter battery from house battery set up?

PWM is Pulse Width Modulated. It's a less efficient approach than the MPPT controllers in general. Yeah, you may exceed the wattage/voltage for the cheapos. FWIW -- I mentioned it because I used to use a 120 watt portable panel from Acopower that came with a PWM controller when I had my...

How to trickle charge starter battery from house battery set up?

Why not just use your solar with a cheap 2nd controller? I do this occasionally with a cheap PWM controller from my portable panel.
