I’ve had back problems since my 20s with varying degrees of functional difficulty ranging from mild to can’t do **** at all. At 70 now I have some lumbar degenerative disc disease and stenosis that can cause problems if I don’t rigidly keep up with my PT exercises. Been lucky to avoid surgery …...
Well, IF you go with a bed rug of any sort AND you are concerned about cold/insulation value, consider that the walls and wheel wells a tailgate at least equal the square footage of the floor. You may not walk on them, but the amount of conductive temperature transfer is huge.
I can’t see just...
Had exactly the same problem from some old coated raingear stored in a plastic bin. Terible smell — you described it perfectly! Nothing helped and worse it made everything else stored with it stink too. Once I threw away the offending items I could finally air out the rest, but there was no...
Consider also that the Bedrug has 3/4 closed cell foam that makes it an effective insulator for the floor.
Also, if you go that way, I found (at least for the Tundra) that the tailgate flap had thinner foam and the tailgate section of the bedrug stretched and rippled a bit over time with my...
Did this same my Tundra and its worked well.
Have you considered a Bedrug? They further cover the gap and make the bed interior MUCH more comfortable as well as keep dust and dirt down.
I don’t think the 38 gal fuel tank was available most of those years, maybe in ‘16. Otherwise, there’s a couple Tundras for sale Lately that might meet some of your criteria.
I DK about your composite surface material or its lamination tensile strength, but I can tell you I’ve had rock solid adhesion of 8020 to my aluminum camper skin for 16 months using 3M VHB tape (5259 Edit: 5952 - I seem to always get that backwards)) and thats through two Phoenix summers so...
Sad event.
For all of us feeling that synthetic lines, dampers, etc give us a real safety margin, this Ronny Dahl vid, and several others hes done, are very sobering.
+ 1 on the DFG slide.
I have mine (regular, not tilting) mounted to some 8020 rails on spacers and the 8020 mounted in my bed to accommodate a slide-out counter underneath. No problems.
Makes me wonder why you couldnt create a flat slide out mount with 8020‘s sliding UHMW fitings and then...
My wife and I tend to read in bed each night and have found wired lights at the very top/front of the bed to be really useful. We’re using 4 battery LED puck lights velcro’d to the push bars for mid and tailgate end lighting. I may wire some ceiling lights there later.
I think I posted this...
