Sorry about your Dad, thats always a tough time.
What’s the story on the big dent on the rear curve out of the camper itself? Penetration or other issues?
Also, what kinda mileage do you get with the current setup?
Tundras are not built in Hino factory, but they DO use a semi-floating version of the Hino full float 10.5” commercial rear axle. One of the big reasons I went with a Tundra for my current camper build.
If it looks like this its definitely a WeBoost, or at least their truckers antenna.
I’ve been real satisfied with mine. Wont conjure up a signal out of nothing, but typically if there’s a little signal it will make it better to a lot better.
Been thinking about a portble box — great thread!
I have a small home fire pit I made using parts from easyfirepits.com. (good guys with a wealth of info and parts for DIY fire pits. The soot bothered me a bit (as a home pit it has copper colored glass “rocks” and they blackened and worse the...
I've had some conversation with Jay on this in the past. Keep in mind he's bolting all sorts of things into the frame. Rivets galore and if I'm not mistaken, those massive hinges on the barn doors are Rivuts with bolts and are really strong -- I watched him hang on a barn door the first time I...
True on both counts. Thing is, we cant see through the hood, and can’t ever be sure how solid an anchor is. I know the OP and everyone else commenting here is experienced and has figured the risks out. Just dont want a newbie to get in a jam like the Kingman guy.
Can’t see why not. I did it in a mildly built Tacoma (slight lift, 32” AT tires) and only used 4wd on Murphy’s Hogback. We permitted 3 nights and it went so fast we only camped one night. I know plenty full sized rigs run it, and I plan to go back with my Tundra and poptop camper in the near...
Beautiful rig and very nice build. Great photos too!
I dont mean to be contentious, but I do have to comment on this as it dangerous to a very high degree.
This may be good for your vehicle but it is absolutely the most dangerous thing you can do while winching. We recently had a winching...
We hang a lot of things, and it’s useful. Since the bed rail is 8020 we just used some roll in T nuts, a bolt, washers, and these anchors to hang SS hooks, carbiners, etc from it. Works well and has the advantage of being repositionable as we figured out our layout and useage. Doesn’t get in the...
Search RV with Tito on YouTube. He has several really great approaches to mounting flexible panels to avoid the heat issue and to make them easy to replace when they crap out.
