That truck box in the background is 32 feet. It has to go on the frame in the picture. I wish I had a forklift, but I don't. I'm going to have to build some type of supports to set it on while I position the frame. I don't think I can just set it on the frame. It won't have enough strength until...
The next project is to engineer a way to lift that 2K lb trailer up high enough to get the frame underneath for welding. I have to lift without creating an obstruction when I set it down. Any ideas?
We built this trailer out of a service bed for a toyota. It was one of the last things my friend Andy did before he died. When I took my truck in to Atlas spring they built the F350 springs to match the shackle reversal in front. It ends up lifting the truck 5 inches. They did the trailer at the...
I used the Atlas springs on the F350 to build the rear suspension on the Uhaul. While they were off the F350 I got some superduty springs for cheap and put them on the truck. When I was going to get the slide in camper I swapped the superduty springs on the Uhaul and put the Atlas springs back...
Thanks for the info. I started this thread because I knew I would learn a lot along the way and wanted to share it. Like any project, you turn over rocks, and find more rocks underneath. (y)
BTW, this thread just hit 500K views today.
My mig welder took a dump yesterday. I think some wire got stuck in the liner that goes to the trigger. The wire started getting stuck while welding, then the spool ran out. When I went to load another spool, the wire was so jammed up that I could not pull it through. I had to order a new...
I've had tons of different cars and trucks. I never regret selling any of them, (except maybe my 510). Your needs and tastes change. No reason to suffer with a truck that you no longer want to drive. Just feel great in knowing you chose wisely when you bought the OBS. I sold my 67 El Camino to...
I have a 2003 Yamaha TW 200 with only 1100 miles on it. It has some upgrades like bigger fuel tank, agm battery with solar panel for charging. Luggage rack on rear, Hand guards, and a skid plate. The headlight fairing has some scratches on it, and normal wear and tear. $2800. Located in SoCal.
Not the outcome I wanted but the Lance has gone to the happy camper hunting grounds. It was too rotten. I salvaged all the good parts which will go on a new build. I really respect those who take these apart and restore them. It's ironic that the wood was too far gone, and yet it was a bear...

In fact, I have a CTEK solar controller that senses a draw and sends power to whatever battery needs it. It can charge the house batteries from the alternator, or charge the starting battery from the solar panel. I lost my alternator in a remote area, and thought I was stuck, but my solar panel...

A friend of mines Chevy Colorado with 10k miles was towing a 2100# camp trailer on a dirt road and hit a bump. This is the result. GM sent out an “investigator” 6 weeks later and has denied any warranty claims. They state the “the truck has 1”...
