In ridgecrest, Ca. for the ultra4 race this weekend. They had to call it during qualifying because there was no wind and it got too dusty. The ruts are deep.
Well, The thermostat took a dump on the way back to the shop for another load. Came in on the hook. Thank goodness for AAA. Changed the T-stat, flushed the coolant, and did an oil change and tune-up. It could have been worse. Going to flat tow the Uhaul too, but not in the heat. ?
We are selling everything from the shop and there is a PSIclops set in the case. It's used to set two tires to the same PSI. They don't make them anymore. Let me know if you are interested.
Made it. Next time I do this I won't do it during the day when it's 115 degrees out! I stole the front tires once I got there to put on my trailer. It's a good thing to have so many 8 lug vehicles.
Waiting for fuel line fittings for the Colorado so I am taking the engineless F250 from the shop to Arizona. Built my own tow bar and mounts so I can flat tow it. The F350 doesn't even know it's there. People aften ask me why I drive such a huge truck. It's because it works!
You know I'm not going to do anything simple. The spot where I'm mounting the fuel tank is currently occupied by a tool chest. The tool chest was bolted to the bed floor. That's not good enough for a tank full of gas so I am tying the tank mount into the bed cage.
Wanting to shield the tank...
Working on the prerunner today. I modified the rear bumper to accept a trailer hitch. Then went about designing a mount for the fuel cell I am mounting. The stock in-tank pump went out so I dropped the tank and replaced it. The truck sat for a couple months. Then the new pump went out. No mas! I...
Chevrolet electrical systems are junk. I have a first gen Colorado and have multiple electrical issues. The wiring they use is just too thin. The copper breaks from fatigue. If you plan to go 500K, get a Toyota,
Yes, terrifying. Camper jacks scare me. The problem is that I can't just drop it on the trailer. The frame needs to be welded to the box in order to have any strength. It's only 4 inch c channel. Otherwise I would just jack up one end and then winch it up. I might have another avenue but I...
Out of the blue I sold my Dana 24 transfer case today. It had been on marketplace for a while; I forgot about it. The best part is that it's going in a fully restored 68 4x4. Glad to see that a really nice old truck is saved. The guy who bought it does auto glass and will give me a killer deal...
